Does anyone know anything that can help clear rosacea up?

I have really sensitive skin so strong creams are no good.....tried everything and makeup doesn't help :(Does anyone know anything that can help clear rosacea up?
I had the same problems as you, and since im 13(i know, young for rosacea) I didnt want to take any oral medication cause of the side effects. I tried tons of things for it so heres my list of what works and what doesn't.

What works:

-Zenmed rosacea sopport serum. I love this stuff!! I put it on at night and in the morning my skin looks redness free!! Its pricy, but it sooo help stop the flare ups! (im condidering buying the whole system!)

-Aveeno ults calming foam wash. Seriosly This stuff is the most gentle cleaner out there. It gets off all dirt and makeup without any irratation!

-Covergirl aquasmoothers makeup. My skin is ultra sensitive, so makeup has always been something to aviod with me. This stuff is probly one of the best makeups ive ever used. it hydrates and they have a whole line of makeup. It doesnt irratate my skin at all, eighter.

-Eucerin Skin perfecting loton- I put this on before my foundadtion, ad it clears the redness rght up. Its kind of like a mask to flareups.

What doesn't work:

-Zenmed Nutrient boost spray- This is ok for people who blush occasionly, but not me. It was the equivelent of splashing water on my face. Felt nice, but didnt do anything.

-Aveeno ultra calming mosiruizer. Ulta-calming should be taken out of the name. Honestly, it did nothing to calm my skin. It was fine, but not amazing. And for the price, you might as well buy a cheaper mosituizer that will do the same thing.

Hope I helped and if all else fails, go see a dermotogist :)Does anyone know anything that can help clear rosacea up?
The only thing which I know coming close to treating this skin disorder is a lengthy course of tetracycline and this only suppresses the symptoms without actually curing it.

The best thing you can do is to avoid alcohol, hot beverages, spicy foods and hot environments to prevent the flushing.

What does your doc recommend?
I've had severe Rosacea for about 19 years. My G.P. tried ne on every available antibiotic treatment...........Minicycline, Tetracycline, Oxytetracycline, Doxycycline, Erythromycin, etc. etc. I also has steroid creams, and Metrogel. None made any real difference. Then I got referred to a dermatologist, and was eventually prescribed ROACCUTANE. It worked like a miracle drug! Fantastic results, in a very short time (weeks). I had 5 courses of it, over about 8 years.

Certain thing trigger Rosacea to flare up. They include:

heat (hot showers, central heating, saunas, the sun, etc)

cold windy weather (wear a scarf and use an umbrella)

spicy foods (curries, chilli, etc)

foods containing ginger

citrus foods........lemons, limes, grapefruit, oranges, tomatoes

pickled foods, things in vinegar

stress

chocolate

caffeine.....coffee, cocoa, Cola, tea

I only ever use ';Simple'; soap and moisturising lotions. I wash my face with lukewarm water, never rub my face or use a flannel. I pat it dry. I use VEIL camouflage cream and powder, to cover the redness. I get them on prescription, but they can be purchased online. Look up VEIL or DERMABLEND (another good product)
Rosacea is tough to deal with. Check out our recent blog entry for advice on what to do to prevent a flare up and how to treat the problem daily. Best of luck! http://ultrabeautydayspa.blogspot.com/2008/11/treating-rosacea-holiday-beauty-tips.html

i tried a Clinique cream for rosacea(boots) , it cleaned up straight away , it was a bit pricey but it cleaned up straight away
