IPL laser treatment for rosacea?

I have rosacea and I was wondering if anyone has tried IPL laser treatments to solve this problem. If so, I wish to know if it worked, how many treatments it took, how much it cost, and what type of lasers were used. I live near Beverly Hills so I can pretty much get any treatment done, but I want to know what works and I trust patients ten times more than doctors! Any suggestions?IPL laser treatment for rosacea?
I am a licensed Medical Aesthetician who suffered from rosacea for years and have received about five Intense Pulse Light treatments. Not only did it work incredibly well to where I finally felt confident enough to going out in public without a ton of makeup, but it improved my skin's texture as well. I work for a plastic surgeon who purchased an IPL three years ago and I became the primary operator of the IPL and have seen many clients suffering from rosacea have their skin turn from ruddy red to calm and clear with IPL. Depending on how severe your case is will depend on how many treatments you will need but expect no less than three to be wowed by the results. The IPL I use in my work is made by Syneron. You can go to Syneron.com for more info. Good Luck!IPL laser treatment for rosacea?

Eucerin has some new products that are very good. You can buy them individually or together in a pack. They are reasonably priced and can be found at CVS or other pharmacies. Kinerase is also good, but more expensive. You can get that through your dermatologist or from catalogues and/or specialty stores like Sephora. Hi.

The standard antibiotic creams for rosacea are very effective either orally ( a tetracycline) or topically ( metronidazole).

The do not however ';cure'; the conditon - so prolonged treatment may be needed.

If you have not yet had oral antibiotics then ask your Dr for a prescription.

If that fails to work then you need to consider that the diagnosis is not correct - ask for a second opinion or for a referral to a dermatologist.

    Can birth control cause Rosacea?

yes but it is unlikelyCan birth control cause Rosacea?
So far as is known, rosacea is not hormonally driven, as males get the disease as frequently as females. On the other hand, it's a very common disorder, so it's possible that you would have developed it anyway.

    Anyone else diagonsed with Rosacea?

I recently went to my dermatologist asking about two clear bumps on my face. She said they are just growths from too much sun and not to worry. Then she asked if I knew I had Rosacea. What the heck is that I replied. She continued to tell me that I have the beginning signs of it and that I need to use Metogel to treat it. I filled the perscription but have yet to use it because I am not convinced that I have it. The only sign of it that I barely see is that I have a few small broken blood vessels...but I really had to look to see them. Does anyone that has this skin condition have any commemts? Should I just start using the Metrogel just incase? Please help.Anyone else diagonsed with Rosacea?
I have it and have chosen not to use metrogel because I don't think there's enough evidence that it works for rosacea. Rosacea is incredibly common. Every other person I know has been diagnosed with it and it seems to manifest differently for each person. If you mention it to people (especially fair skinned people) many will say ';oh I have that too'; and then will describe symptoms that are totally different than yours. Sorry I can't be more helpful but it's a confusing diagnosis.Anyone else diagonsed with Rosacea?
I have recently been (confirmed) diagnosed with Rosacea and use Metrogel. I have had several other medical problems, so they at first thought it was a Lupus (butterfly) rash and did not treat it, which was fine with me because I do not believe you should put anything on or in your body without good cause. I started using Metrogel 3 months ago because of a fair determination that I did not suffer from Lupus and it may help the rash. I would express my concerns of necessity to the dermatologist and your General or Family Physician before starting Metrogel just to be sure it's needed. If you need it, I can tell you I love it. It feels nice on your face once you get it on and it dries, you do not need a huge amount for coverage (I use it on my cheeks, nose, forehead and chin) and my skin looks fabulous (prior to using I looked like somebody had thrown scalding water in my face; almost neon red looking in the last 6 months before using and not even one tiny whitehead or zit with my period). My skin is as beautiful as it had always been before becoming ill, I again receive compliments on how nice my skin looks from complete strangers. Hope this helps.

  • If you have rosacea, what has been the best treatment for you?

The dermatologist prescribes oral antibiotics and topical Finacea

    Any suggestions for rosacea?

I first was prescribed metrogel and an oral antibiotic. I didnt really have much of a problem with my rosacea when I was first diagnosed. I had the most embarrasing experience of my life on a high school retreat that I couldnt escape. I was red for an hour and the burning was horrible. From that point on my rosacea was absolutely horrible. I didnt want to go to school most days because I had a fear of being red. Metrogel and the antibiotic were usless. I went back to my doctor and she prescribed a beta blocker (tiny vessels become smaller?). Around this time I also started on the Zenmed treatment. It worked quite well but my improvement plateaued after 2 weeks. I could live a normal life but my face still wasnt completely satisfactory. I up-ed the dosage on the beta blocker and eventually my rosacea has gotten a little worse and is still quite bad. Because of the Zenmed I cant feel it as much anymore.Any suggestions for rosacea?
    Natural Treatments for Rosacea

Conventional treatments for rosacea include avoiding triggers that worsen rosacea symptoms and medication. Laser therapy may be suggested to reduce flushing and the appearance of blood vessels.

The following are some of the most frequently used natural treatments for rosacea.

    1) Chrysanthellum Indicum Cream

A cream containing an extract of the herb Chrysanthellum indicum has been explored for the treatment of rosacea. Compounds in the extract appear to strengthen capillaries. A large study involving 246 people with rosacea examined the safety and effectiveness of a cream containing one percent Chrysanthellum indicum extract (applied twice a day) or placebo.

After 12 weeks, the Chrysanthellum indicum cream significantly improved rosacea symptoms, including facial redness, compared to placebo. Adverse reactions were mild and did not differ compared with the placebo group.

    2) Green Tea Cream

One small study, presented as an abstract at the 2005 American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting, found evidence that a green tea cream may help people with rosacea.

The study involved 60 women aged 25 to 50 years. All had red bumps and pustules, 20 had redness, and 17 had visible blood vessels. Half of the women applied the green tea cream containing 2% polyphenone) twice a day and the other half applied the placebo cream.

After four weeks, women using the green tea cream had a significant reduction in the number of red bumps and pustules compared to those applying the placebo cream. The small study was 75 percent funded by a company, Syed Skincare Inc., owned by Dr. Syed. Larger, independently-funded studies are needed.

    3) Niacinamide Cream

Niacinamide, a form of vitamin B3, has been used topically for rosacea. It is thought to improve the skin barrier, improve the skin鈥檚 moisture level, and reduce inflammation. One study looked at a niacinamide-containing facial moisturizer (applied twice daily) or a placebo moisturizer in 50 people with rosacea. After four weeks, the niacinamide-containing moisturizer was found to improve the skin barrier. Niacinamide taken orally has also been explored for rosacea.

    4) Licorice

Another topical treatment used for rosacea is the herb licorice. One study examined the effect of a topical licorice skin regimen in 62 people with mild to moderate facial redness. There was significant improvement in redness at the four and eight week assessments.

    5) Digestive Enzymes

Some people with rosacea have indigestion, especially after eating fatty foods. One study found a deficiency of the pancreatic enzyme lipase, an enzyme that helps to digest fat.

When the rosacea patients in the study were given pancreatic enzyme supplements with meals, their symptoms of indigestion and rosacea both improved.

    6) B Vitamins

Inadequate riboflavin, caused by insufficient dietary intake or poor absorption in the digestive tract, may be associated with rosacea.

One study found that Demodex folliculorum mites, which are normally found on the skin but more in larger numbers on the skin of rosacea patients, are more likely to affect the skin of animals in riboflavin. An increased number of mites may cause blockage of the pores from inflammation or may allow for the growth of bacteria on the skin.

    7) Azelaic Acid Cream

Azelaic acid cream is derived from wheat, rye and barley. It appears to have antimicrobial action that slows the growth of skin bacteria and appears to be effective at reducing skin redness and papules and pustules associated with rosacea.

One study conducted by the University of British Columbia found that azelaic acid 20 percent cream was as effective as topical metronidazole 0.75 percent cream in reducing the number of papules and pustules on the skin. Azelaic acid also appeared to be slightly more effective at reducing redness.

In addition, overall improvement was rated by physicians as higher with azelaic acid. Both creams, however, showed equal improvement in the symptoms of dryness, burning, telangiectasia and itching. The most common side effect of the azelaic acid cream was stinging on application, but the patients still had a better overall impression of azelaic acid than the metronidazole cream.

Besides stinging, side effects of azelaic acid may include lightening of darkened areas of skin, although the skin does not appear to lighten beyond its normal color.

    8) Food Intolerances

Some alternative practitioners have found clinically that certain foods may be associated with rosacea symptoms. Foods may cause the release of chemicals that dilate blood vessels and cause flushing.

An inexpensive and effective way of identifying food intolerance is through an elimination and challenge diet, which involves removing allergenic foods from the diet for one to two weeks then systematically introducing them into the diet to isolate the foods that cause reactions. Supervision by a health practitioner is recommended.

    9) Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar taken orally is used as a home remedy for rosacea. It is thought to stimulate the release of digestive enzymes and help normalize the bacterial balance in the intestines. Consult a health practitioner before trying apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is available in liquid and tablet form. There have been reports linking use of the tablets with esophageal injury.

    Treatment

Although there's no way to eliminate rosacea altogether, effective treatment can relieve its signs and symptoms. Most often this requires a combination of prescription treatments and certain self-care measures on your part.

Your doctor also may recommend certain moisturizers, soaps, sunscreens and other products to improve the health of your skin. If hot flashes appear to trigger your rosacea, you might ask your doctor what treatment options are available for the signs and symptoms of menopause.

    Medications

Doctors often prescribe topical antibiotics to treat rosacea, more for their anti-inflammatory properties than to kill bacteria. A common topical antibiotic prescribed is metronidazole (Metrocream, Metrogel, Noritate). Another prescription medication is azelaic acid (Azelex, Finacea), which reduces redness and inflammation.
I just wanted to say that I too suffer from rosacea. The only medication I've tried is the metrogel and didnt see any changes at all, but I didnt use it like I should have. I am thinking about going to a clinic that uses lasers to remove some of the tiny veins. That seems to bother me the most, makes me appear red all the time. And the fact that my skin is sensitive.

Mostly I just wanted to let you know youre not alone, there are so many people out here with it.

Good luck, hope you find a solution.

Do i have rosacea ? please help me with cures or whatever?

I have really bad red skin on my cheeks nose and chin , but its not like bumpy or anything just really bad redness and it really gets me down . what can i do ?:-(Do i have rosacea ? please help me with cures or whatever?
hate to ruin your day, but rosacea is a permanent thing, no worries, not meaning it will be on your face forever, but there is no cure for it. Just avoid the sun for long periods, wash your face gently, and eat well to keep the pigments in balance and it shouldn't be a huge burden. It will keep it under control.

Whats the best sunscreen for people with rosacea?

for rosacea you really really need to make sure that you get a sunscreen that protects you from uva AND uvb rays. you want one that is at least 45 spf and reapply every couple of hours, skin with rosacea is very sensative and needs to be protected! i do have to stress the uva and uvb rays because the rays that cause a tan/ burn make up only about 5-10% of the sun that you can actually see yourself absorbing, that means you are taking in about 90% of sun that you don't even realize, and sun is extremely bad for your skin!

I want a medical explanation of what rosacea is?

Rosacea is a skin disease that causes redness, pimples, and red lines on the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead. A rash over the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin often occurs. People sometimes call it ';adult acne'; because it can cause pimple-like outbreaks. Rosacea can also cause burning and soreness in the eyes and eyelids. The exact cause of rosacea is unknown. One theory is that some people have blood vessels that are easily irritated. Another possible cause is tiny mites that normally live on our skin. People with rosacea have more of these mites on their faces than those who don't have the disease. You may control rosacea with medication and by avoiding triggers that lead to flare-ups. Left untreated, rosacea can get worse. Large, disfiguring bumps on the nose and face and serious eye problems are signs of severe rosacea. Fair-skinned people between the ages of 30 and 60 are most likely to develop rosacea. Women are more likely to have rosacea, but men usually have more severe symptoms. You can read more here

http://www.rosacea.org/I want a medical explanation of what rosacea is?
    What Is Rosacea?

Most people have very little knowledge of rosacea, treatment, symptoms or the cause. Knowing the symptoms and finding the treatment that works for you is the best defense against the social and psychological trauma.

The rosacea classic symptoms are patchy flushing (redness) and inflammation, particularly on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and around the mouth. Rosacea typically appears between the ages of 30 and 50 and affects more women than men. As symptoms emerge slowly, rosacea may initially be mistaken for sunburn, leading to a delay in proper rosacea treatment. Rosacea treatment delayed is 'rosacea treatment denied'.

Rosacea is a hereditary; chronic (long term) skin disorder that most often affects the nose, forehead, cheekbones, and chin (Dr. Berasques). Groups of tiny microvessels (arterioles, capillaries, and venules) close to the surface of the skin become dilated, resulting in blotchy red areas with small papules (a small, red solid elevated inflammatory skin lesion without pus) and pustules (pus-filled inflammatory bumps). The redness can come and go, but eventually it may become permanent. Furthermore, the skin tissue can swell and thicken and may be tender and sensitive to the touch. Pustules are 'not' pimples. Pimples have a bacterial component to their makeup and are also mainly localized in and around the hair follicles while papules are a raised solid red lesion without pus.

Although it may first appear as early as the teen years, rosacea symptoms most frequently begins when rosacea sufferers enter their 30s, 40s or 50s as a flushing or transient redness on the cheeks or nose, and in some cases the chin or forehead. In this earliest stage, some patients may report stinging or burning sensations, including the feeling of dry or tight skin.

    ';While the incidence of rosacea appears to be rising sharply as more people enter the most susceptible age, many mistakenly think it's just a complexion problem that will go away by itself -- it usually keeps growing worse if left unchecked,'; said Dr. Joseph Bikowski, assistant clinical professor of dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh. ';Of greatest concern is that only a small percentage of rosacea sufferers realize that medical help is available from dermatologists to halt its progression and reverse its symptoms.';

Rosacea may be persistent and worsen over time, leading to permanent changes in appearance and affecting self-esteem. The condition is treatable. Most cases can be controlled easily by avoiding factors that trigger flushing, using sun protection, and by keeping the body well hydrated with water.

As the condition progresses, flushing becomes more persistent and noticeable. Small, red, solid bumps (called papules) and pus-filled pimples (called pustules) may appear on the skin. Because these appear similar to acne, it is sometimes called acne rosacea or adult acne. However, unlike acne, there are no blackheads. Though rosacea is sometimes referred to as ';adult acne,'; it is a distinctly different and often more serious condition than acne vulgaris, which most commonly occurs during adolescence. While both conditions can cause pimples, rosacea requires different therapy -- acne treatments can actually make it worse -- and rosacea rarely goes away by itself.

Small, dilated blood vessels may become visible, too. Often when people with rosacea blush, the enlarged blood vessels in their faces can look like thin red lines.

In advanced cases, more of the face is affected. The skin swells, cysts form, and small, knobby bumps develop on the nose, making it appear red and swollen. This condition, called rhinophyma, is relatively uncommon and primarily affects men. It was the cause of the late comedian W.C. Fields' best-known feature -- his trademark bulbous nose.

Ocular Rosacea: It can also cause a persistent burning and feeling of grittiness in the eyes or inflamed and swollen eyelids with small inflamed bumps. The eyes may become bloodshot and eyelashes sometimes fall out (Dr. Thiboutot). The rosacea ophthalmic signs are exceedingly variable, including blepharitis, conjunctivitis, iritis, iridocyclitis, hypopyoniritis, and even keratitis. The rosacea ophthalmic complications are independent of the severity of facial rosacea. Rosacea keratitis has an unfavorable prognosis, and in extreme cases can lead to corneal opacity with blindness. The most frequent signs of ocular rosacea, which may never progress, are chronically inflamed margins of the eyelids with scales and crusts, quite similar to seborrheic dermatitis, with which it is often confused. Pain and photophobia may be present. It is instructive to ask rosacea patients how their eyes react to bright sunlightI want a medical explanation of what rosacea is?
Rosacea is a chronic (long-term) disease that affects the skin and sometimes the eyes. The disorder is characterized by redness, pimples, and, in advanced stages, thickened skin. Rosacea usually affects the face; other parts of the upper body are only rarely involved.

There are several symptoms and conditions associated with rosacea. These include frequent flushing, vascular rosacea, inflammatory rosacea, and several other conditions involving the skin, eyes, and nose.

Frequent flushing of the center of the face--which may include the forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin--occurs in the earliest stage of rosacea. The flushing often is accompanied by a burning sensation, particularly when creams or cosmetics are applied to the face. Sometimes the face is swollen slightly.

A condition called vascular rosacea causes persistent flushing and redness. Blood vessels under the skin of the face may dilate (enlarge), showing through the skin as small red lines. This is called telangiectasia (tel-AN-je-ek-tay-ze-ah). The affected skin may be swollen slightly and feel warm.

A condition called inflammatory rosacea causes persistent redness and papules (pink bumps) and pustules (bumps containing pus) on the skin. Eye inflammation and sensitivity as well as telangiectasia also may occur.

In the most advanced stage of rosacea, the skin becomes a deep shade of red and inflammation of the eye is more apparent. Numerous telangiectases are often present, and nodules in the skin may become painful. A condition called rhinophyma also may develop in some men; it is rare in women. Rhinophyma is characterized by an enlarged, bulbous, and red nose resulting from enlargement of the sebaceous (oil-producing) glands beneath the surface of the skin on the nose. People who have rosacea also may develop a thickening of the skin on the forehead, chin, cheeks, or other areas.

NO! Microdermabrasion can be a real disaster for rosacea.

There is a certain type of lasar that they use now which actually CURES rosacea with five treatments.

It is called a pulsed light laser.

Some dermatologists have this type of laser and most do not.

    It costs $300-$500 per treatment.

I would stop getting facials or doing any sort of abrasion on your face.

I love the Biore facials that they do not make anymore.

They heat up on your face and make my skin look BETTER than a professional facial.

    I get them on eBay.

They do not aggrevate my rosacea.

    I too have this.

  • Does anyone know of any over the counter cures for rosacea?

    Hi Denise

Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood and removing excess waste from the body.

    Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems.';

    Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body's overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin.';

Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.

Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification - Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease.

.1 Drink up to a gallon of water a day (I do) to flush out the toxins and excess waste.

    2. Nutrition: = this helps heal the body and will gives it energy to work on the internal issues. Mainly raw organic fruit and vegetables. If you only ate organic raw F %26amp; V for 7-10 days and drank distilled water you would see a change in your energy and be on your way to better health. Letting the body rest from digesting meats, dairy, and processed foods would do wonders for you.

    3. Be sure to a good cleansing (colon and liver) program ( herbdoc.com has a good one).

I have found that Affordable Basic Minerals is fantastic. Mineral makeup is really not hard to apply. You just have to play with it awhile until you find out how much you need to apply on your brush. You need to find a good brush that does not shed.

My 15 year old daughter wears mineral makeup and finds that it is very easy to apply. She even went swimming one day and her friends were amazed that the makeup stayed on after swimming.

The chemicals in other makeups enlarge your pores and are not good for your skin. The other advantage to mineral makeup is that it has a natural sunscreen. You should give it a try. Watch for mineral makeups with cornstarch fillers and other cheap fillers. They even charge more than the natural mineral makeups.
    SMASHBOX CREAM TO POWDER---

    o m g it is the best $30 that i ever spent.

when its around that time of the month, i break out A LOT... and that is the ONLY make up that blends well and covers up nicely. I have never gotten so many compliments on my skin.

when i am not breaking out, i use cover girls tru blend mousse.
I use Sheer Cover, it's like Bare Minerals, but it sounds like it's easier to apply, you just brush the powder on in circles on your face.

You can even mix your two kinds of foundation powder to get the best shade for your skin. I have really dark under eye circles, and now that I use this, you can't see them anymore, and it looks like i'm not wearing any makeup at all because you don't need to use alot of powder for proper coverage.

I have seen it work on rosacea, and even on birthmarks on the face, and they totally disappear.

    The steps for applying are:

    -have a clean, dry face

-use the Sheer Cover moisturizer (let it dry)

    -use concealer where needed

-dab finishing powder on places where concealer was used

-brush on foundation in circles on face

-use brand of regular blush(I use covergirl)

-brush on finishing powder(using a different brush of course)

It takes me 5-10 mins to put my makeup on, and it lasts all day, until you use the Sheer Cover cleanser to take it off.

I even went swimming the other night, and it still stayed on after being in chlorine, and splashed a few times.

I am a firm believer in Sheer Cover, and I won't use anything else now, I even went and threw out all of my old makeup. That is, except eyeshadow because you can still use your old ones even with the Sheer Cover system.

    Here's the website www.sheercover.com

Leeza Gibbons is the spokesperson for it.

Demablend! Great product! I use it for an embarrassing scar I have on my chest when I swim because it's water-proof!
I have mild rosacea, and for liquid foundation I use Loreal Feel Naturale. For powder-based foundation I use Cover Girl Tru Blend. They both provide alot of coverage and go on smoothly. Depending on the extent of your rosacea, one may work better than the other.
you have to beleive me this is soooooooooo....perfect for you,I know everyone talks bare minerals and is very annoying to apply,I found something that is the same but so much easier, you wont believe it till you try go to purminerals.com,you only need one powder and one brush,it has everything in it concealer, and sunscreen to pleeeeeeeeese, you'll love it trust me
Dermablend. no questions asked. It's used for people with rosacea, scars, or birthmarks. It doesn't smudge and has coverage in water. It's best to get the concealor duo and the foundation,w/setting powder. Take a look for yourself.

I have severe rosacea. I am currently using Mineral Secrets by Skin Rx. I also had a lot of success with Sheer Minerals. I think just about any line of hypo-allergenic mineral makeup would do well. The concealers that come with both lines are terrific for covering the red, but I was able to match my skin tone better with Mineral Secrets. Mineral make up does not give that caked-on look that some of the previous makeup I tried did (including Sher and Dermablend).

One of the best treatments for true rosacea is Finacea (15% azelaic acid). However, it is a prescription cream, so you have to see a doctor to obtain it. There's also a prescription wash called Plexion. Nicomide is an oral medication also good for rosacea (which I will discuss further below), and it is sometimes used in the place of oral antibiotics, which can also be useful for rosacea. Oracea, a new formulation of doxycycline, is also very good for rosacea, but the same results can be obtained from a higher dose of doxycycline (for usually a lower co-pay).

Some people who just have sensitive skin (and don't have true rosacea) are able to obtain some relief with over-the-counter (like Eucerin Redness Relief) and ';home'; remedies. However, true rosacea really requires actual medical treatment, or the condition worsens with time.

I mentioned Nicomide earlier -- it's an oral medication which has been studied to be just as effective as antibiotics for mild acne and rosacea. It's an anti-inflammatory medication made from B-vitamins, copper, and zinc. However, merely taking a multi-vitamin won't give you the same results. Nicomide has been prepared with a precise dosage and release-control to obtain the desired anti-inflammatory effects.

So, your best option is to still see a dermatologist. However, if one prescribes MetroGel (a topical antibiotic) for you. You should politely ask that you would prefer Finacea, based on what you have read: that it has better results than MetroGel. (Bacteria are not the cause of rosacea, and MetroGel is just an antibiotic gel.)

Finally, laser treatments called PDL (pulsed-dye laser) can provide long-term results for rosacea patients. These are not as expensive as you might think (especially when you consider the long-term costs of treating rosacea with daily medications and repeated trips to the doctor) -- however, these are not for everyone -- consulting a trained dermatologist will give you the best options.) I would not suggest tanning. It does *temporarily* ';blend in'; the rosacea flare up with surrounding skin, but sun exposure is known contributor to rosacea and long-term progression of the condition.

Does ZenMed work to get rid of rosacea?

You cannot get rid of Rosacea. ZenMed says it will help keep it under control but there is currently nothing that totally gets rid of it. I have not tried ZenMed though but have been to their website to read about it.

Rosacea can make your face feel hot and itchy. But high blood pressure can cause your face (mainly cheeks) to get red as well. (you don't have to feel dizzy to have high blood pressure).

Why not get your blood pressure checked just to be sure? (See your doctor or Wal-Mart has machines for free testing.)

I have been diagnosed with rosacea by two separate dermatologists. I have gone thru 1 antibiotic and 3 ointments and nothing worked. I couldn't afford the medications anymore and decided to try that Proactive over the counter acne stuff. After a lifetime of hating my skin, I'm happy for the first time. The silly stuff really does work. I had disregarded it because it wasn't prescription and also because celebrities were endorsing it (which I hate). It will definitely do the job, though, and a whole lot cheaper.
I cured dry eyes by plugging my tear ducts - lower ones, using acular as antiinflammatory drops, and systane as lubricating tears.
    Pimple Or Acne Cure!

Just Follow The Four Steps Below

    1. Use no soap of any kind on your face! 2. Do not squeeze the skin on your face, or rub your face with your hands, wash cloth or towel 3. Use no creams, ointments, or medicines on your face, [except antibiotic ointments], they are not needed, but they can be used, and they can be purchased at the grocery store: (if you are someone that shaves); go ahead and apply a thin coat of an antibiotic ointment after you shave, over the area where you have shaved. 4. With water only; cold or cool, gently with your hands once a day, clean your face; [do not use hot water]: pat dry with soft towel. Follow the above instructions to the letter or completely and your acne or pimples should be gone in from one to two months; but for this to happen, (you must follow the above instructions)! Keep the commandments and seek the Lord with all your heart! Believe in the lord jesus christ and you will be saved. Acts 16:31

Good luck to you! What can help rosacea?!?!?!?!?
Unfortunately, not really. All of the truly effective treatments for rosacea require prescriptions. I would call and ask to see if there have been any cancellations or if they can squeeze you in sooner -- my recommendations for medications to ask for are as follows:

    - Finacea (15% azelaic acid) -- this is best treatment

    - Nicomide (oral medication for rosacea and acne)

(Nicomide is a good alternative to oral antibiotics)

    - Plexion wash

    - Salicylic acid, 2%, if your face is also oily (not if dry)

    - Use a fragrance-free, sensitive-skin moisturizer

(this is if you have dry skin, not if you have oily skin)

Do *not* accept MetroGel. In a comparison study between MetroGel and Finacea, Finacea was demonstrated to be clearly superior to MetroGel. MetroGel is an antibiotic, and bacteria have been determined to not be the causative agent in rosacea. Good luck!

Anyone have rosacea and knows how to control it?

I do not have rosacea myself but my grandmother does and here are a few ideas that might help you control yours. Avoid hot tea/coffee, spicy foods, excessive prescription steroids, any form of stress, harsh soaps/creams, and hot baths or hot tubs. The reason one persons rosacea flares up is almost always different for the next person.......watch what you are doing or consuming the next time you have a flare up and simply try to cut back on or eliminate that from your diet/routine. Makeup can be an effective aid in rosacea, will not make it worse, and even some male rosacea sufferers use a bit. A slightly more olive color than usual helps to hide the redness. As i am not personally living with it this is all I can tell you ...based on what I have seen my grandmother do.Anyone have rosacea and knows how to control it?
Rosacea is a common inflammatory skin disorder of an unknown cause. The first thing you should do is make an appointment with a dermatologist so they can evaluate whether it is in fact rosacea as there are many other conditions that can mimic the symptoms of rosacea. Your dermatologist will be able to assist you in choosing the right treatment.

There are several manifestations of rosacea with many people having symptoms of more than one. Some of the symptoms can be: facial flushing, persistent redness, broken blood vessels (telangiectasia), papules %26amp; pustules, lumpy-bumpy skin, facial swelling, burning sensations, pain sensations, ocular rosacea (watery %26amp; bloodshot eyes, foreign body sensation, burning or stinging, dryness, itching, light sensitivity, blurred vision), under-eye veins and rhinophyma (thickening and disfiguration of the nose skin).

Sometimes the advice people will give for treating the redness and flushing is to avoid the triggers. I can assure you that no one with rosacea has ever said that. There are so many triggers, (hot and cold environments, hot spicy food, laughter, stress, emotional embarrassment, etc) and those very factors are things we do everyday. Furthermore, the flushing can be brought on spontaneously. The most effective treatment for rosacea varies greatly by person and unfortunately, this is not an easy condition for most doctors to treat. Therapies such as oral and topical antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medication, beta-blockers, Clonidine, Metrogel, Noritate, psychotherapy, and low dose Accutane have all been used and benefited some people. There is also laser treatment available for more severe cases that don鈥檛 respond to traditional treatment, although lasers are not very helpful for many people with the flushing and redness symptoms so it is important to do your research first.

The good news is that although it may be painful and annoying to have rosacea, there are many others that have what you have and there are also many treatments to improve (BUT NOT CURE) rosacea. I wish you the best of luck.Anyone have rosacea and knows how to control it?

Rosacea is a condition of the skin often referred to as adult acne (although it shouldn鈥檛 be confused with acne)

that causes red blemishes to form on the nose and cheek area. General redness, broken and enlarged capillaries

often accompany these areas. The cause of the condition is unknown but it is suspected that genetics play a

role. In its mildest form, Rosacea can be difficult to recognize. It almost always affects the nose area with red

    Rosacea treatment by doctor?

Can you be diagnosed and given medication for rosacea by a regular doctor if your health insurance doesn't cover dermatologists?Rosacea treatment by doctor?
Yes -- request Finacea. In some medical studies, it has been proven to be more effective than MetroGel/MetroCream (one of the more commonly-prescribed medications) which many patients find unsatisfactory. If you also have acne along with your rosacea, a prescription wash called Plexion can be very helpful. Plexion wash is helpful for both acne and rosacea. Oral doxycycline (100mg 2x/day) is also helpful for rosacea (and for acne). Rosacea treatment by doctor?
Yes. I'm sure your primary care physician will be able to prescribe you some of the more common treatments for Rosacea . I bet if you brought in some info on other medications s/he would be will to give those a try too since most Rosacea treatments aren't to tricky to treat with.

Im 22 & have little rosacea.heard it might be a combination of genetics and stress? could this be true?

    HI Samage

Here are some ideas to heal the issue.

Quick Action Plan for SKin Issues

    1. Massage your skin, where needed, with bergamot, camphor, geranium, juniper, lavender, or neroli essential oils.

    2. Ayurvedic practitioners recommend making a paste of 陆 tsp each of turmeric and sandalwood paste with enough water, and applying to pimples. Also, drink half a cup of aloe vera juice twice daily until skin clears.

    3. Eat an organic whole foods diet, with plenty of organic cooked and raw vegetables, and whole fruits. Reduce animal fats and stressor foods such as caffeine, refined sugars, and alcohol, as well as colas, candies, and frozen and processed foods. Include more high fiber foods.

    4. Drink eight glasses of pure, filtered water daily. Also, daily have two glasses of raw juice, combining carrot, beet, and celery juice, or, carrot, cucumber, and lettuce (not iceberg), and spinach, with carrot predominating.

    5. Add 3-5 drops of crab apple flower essence to pure water and drink during the day. Rescue Remedy庐 is good for stress.

    6. Combine the tinctures of herbs such as sarsaparilla, burdock, and cleavers in equal parts, taking 陆 tsp three times a day. Drink an infusion of nettle several times a day and apply tea tree oil topically. An infusion of calendula mixed with equal parts of distilled witch hazel can be used as a cleansing wash. Steam sauna your face with red clover, lavender, and strawberry leaves.

    7. Useful homeopathy remedies are Pulsatilla, Silicea, Berberis, Ledum, Sulfur, Arsen alb., Belladonna, and/or Carbo veg.

    8. Enjoy full body immersion hydrotherapy treatments such as steam baths, saunas, sitz baths, colonic irrigation, hot and/or cold compresses, and steam sauna your face with red clover, lavender, and strawberry leaves.

    9. Useful supplements are vitamin A, beta carotene, vitamin B complex, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin E, and zinc. Also include omega-3 fatty acids, brewer's yeast, chlorophyll, and pancreatic enzymes with meals.

    10. Expose your face to sun and air at least 30 minutes a day, and exercise daily. Keep your skin clean by washing your face three times a day with soap made from the herb calendula officinalis, or using other alternatives to soap. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Keep the skin free of oil and use water-based products. Get sufficient sleep.

    11. Make facial masks from natural products; leave on overnight to help dry the skin if the issue is caused by excess oil.

    12. For long term relief and health be sure to do a colon cleanse. This clears out the toxins in the blood and excess waste in the body. Colon cleansing will healp clear up a lot of issue, expecially skin issues.

    Cause

Skin Issues may be worsened at adolescence, during the pre-menstrual and/or mid-menstrual cycle due to hormonal action, and when under stress, on contraceptives, eating a poor diet that causes an over acidic system, or taking prescription and non-prescription drugs.

Skin Issues may suggest the need for better hygiene, or magnesium and vitamin A. Also some skin issues are suggesting vitamin B1 deficiency or absorption problems. Consistent raised spots on the outside of the arms and sometimes even the thighs, resembling ';chicken skin,'; may suggest need for magnesium, vitamin A, or essential fatty acids or the need to avoid foods that inhibit the absorption of these nutrients, such as trans-fatty acids found in margarine and hydrogenated oils, such as cottonseed oil and palm kernel oil.

Food allergies, allergies to facial creams, soaps, shampoos, makeup, and excess intake of refined sugars, can all cause or contribute to skin issues. Certain foods can also aggravate skin conditions because of their high-acid forming effects on the body, especially fried foods, trans fats, iodized salt, alcohol, hot and spicy foods, all processed foods, chocolate, fruit juices, carbonated beverages, caffeinated beverages, and dairy products. Excessive long-term intake of seafood or other high iodine foods may also cause issues in some people.

Coexisting gum problems suggest the need for folic acid. A separate skin condition may occur in women 30-40 years old due to physical exercising or working all day with face makeup, lowered resistance due to stress, or hyper-response to bacteria or hormone problems. Another skin problem, acne rosacea (reddish spots in a pattern over nose and cheeks), may be a sign of low B vitamins or low hydrochloric acid in the stomach.

  • What medication gets rid of rosacea?

Dermatologists, while unable to cure rosacea, have a variety of treatments that diminish the disease鈥檚 signs and symptoms. According to a study of 1,077 rosacea patients, 87 percent said their rosacea was under control with treatment. Today鈥檚 treatments range from topical products and oral medications to treat the papules and pustules, to laser therapy for treating visible blood vessels on the face.

Dermatologists often use a combination of treatments, depending on individual patients鈥?needs. Sometimes doctors prescribe both an oral antibiotic and a topical product. Click on the link below to learn about treatments used for the various signs and symptoms of rosacea. What medication gets rid of rosacea?
see a dermatologist! What medication gets rid of rosacea?
this is going to be a simple answer compared to the others, but I';ve found that bare minerals has reallly help my rosacea. It's evened out my skin alot. (and I have it mild) but give it a try, see if it will help.

Oral antibiotics also are prescribed because they tend to work faster than topical ones. In many cases, dermatologists first prescribe both oral and topical antibiotics to lessen signs and symptoms, followed by long-term use of a topical antibiotic alone to maintain remission. Some of the most common prescription oral antibiotics include tetracycline, minocycline, doxycycline and erythromycin.

    * Isotretinoin (Accutane) is a powerful medication sometimes used for more severe cases of inflammatory rosacea. Doctors don't prescribe it for the treatment of mild cases or for telangiectasia or for redness of the face. Usually prescribed for cystic acne, it works to inhibit the production of oil by sebaceous glands. People who take it need close monitoring by a dermatologist because of the possibility of serious side effects. Isotretinoin is associated with severe birth defects, so it can't be taken by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant during the course of treatment or within several weeks of concluding treatment. In fact, the drug carries such serious potential side effects that women of reproductive age must participate in an Food and Drug Administration-approved monitoring program to receive a prescription for the drug. In addition, isotretinoin may increase the levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood and may increase liver enzyme levels. For most people, however, these levels return to normal when the medication is stopped.

Your doctor may treat ocular rosacea with oral antibiotics.

The duration of your treatment depends on the type and severity of your symptoms, but typically you'll notice an improvement within one to two months. Because symptoms may recur if you stop taking medications, long-term regular treatment is often necessary.

    Surgical

Enlarged blood vessels, some redness and changes due to rhinophyma often become permanent. In these cases, surgical methods, such as laser surgery and electrosurgery, may reduce the visibility of blood vessels, remove tissue buildup around your nose and generally improve your appearance.

Rosacea (acne rosacea) is a chronic inflammatory disorder characterized by facial flushing, telangiectasias, erythema, papules, pustules, and in severe cases, rhinophyma. Diagnosis is based on characteristic appearance. Treatment depends on severity and includes topical metronidazole, topical and oral antibiotics, rarely isotretinoin, and, for severe rhinophyma, surgery.

Consult your doctor.YOUR most successful treatment for Rosacea?
Some doctors prescribe a topical antibiotic, such as metronidazole, which is applied directly to the affected skin.

    I've had Rosex gel.

For people with more severe cases, doctors often prescribe an oral antibiotic.

Tetracycline, minocycline, erythromycin, and doxycycline are the most common antibiotics used.

The papules and pustules may respond quickly to treatment, but the redness and flushing are less likely to improve.

Best to avoid hot or spicy foods, alcohol and caffeine, exposure to the sun, rain or wind, and stress.

Not too sure about lasering though-sounds a bit severe!
    Lay of spicy foods.

Does anyone know the best OTC products (makeup and cleansers) to use on skin with rosacea?

I do think that Proactive works. I have acne that causes systs and I use it and about two weeks after my first use I notice a change. You can get a brand similar at Walmart that is a knockoff of Proactive, or you can order it online. Also there are some little booths in the mall that may sell it.Does anyone know the best OTC products (makeup and cleansers) to use on skin with rosacea?

    Does exercise make rosacea worst?

i think i may have rosacea, such as when i come out of the shower and my forehead is so red as hell. I have these tiny tiny dots on my forehead, my forehead looks so weird.

i exercise a lot and was wondering if exercise makes rosacea worse.

    thanks in advance =)

oh yea i would be really interest to hear your story if you suffer from rosacea. how did it begin? what age? were you atheletic?Does exercise make rosacea worst?
Trying to stay healthy and rosacea free can be a challenge. Rosacea sufferers often flush during exercise. Exercise flushing is caused by the cardiovascular system pumping harder and faster due to exercise with the resulting lactic acid being given off from the muscles and facial vascular dilation or a rosacea red face.

Exercise should be performed moderately in a cool area keeping the body well hydrated to avoid or minimize rosacea redness. It's best to adapt slowly over time to the exercise so that the body is aerobic (with oxygen) instead of anaerobic (without oxygen causing redness - you remember when you tried holding your breath for just 30 seconds with the result of your facial skin immediately turning pink or red). Therefore, you can handle more vigorous exercise as your exercise training increases. Better cardiovascular shape and exercise means more oxygen in the blood and more oxygen in blood constrict vessels. There are a myriad of benefits of water during exercise. Water is absolutely necessary for strong, flexible plasma membranes of all cells.

Exercise in moderation. Too much exercise can cause a lactic acid accumulation in the muscles. You can tell you're operating over your anaerobic threshold when you begin to tire, sweat, and feel fatigued. Your heart rate will be between 80% and 90% of its maximum. The best rosacea exercise to avoid turning red is to stay aerobic with oxygen.

One of the key reasons for endurance training is to enable the body to perform at a greater pace with a minimal amount of lactate. Long steady runs, which will develop the aerobic capacity by means of capillarisation or more small capillaries can do this, which improves the transportation of more oxygen to the muscles and by creating greater efficiency in the heart and lungs. If the aerobic (with oxygen) capacity is greater, it means there will be more oxygen available to the working muscles and this should delay or totally avoid the onset of lactic acid at a given work intensity.

Body stress and fatigue has much to do with rosacea redness and rosacea papules. Don't work out heavily when you are already stressed; just take a positive walk for 15 minutes, or enjoy an exercise that is positive and mentally uplifting that can be considered an easy exercise to get the mental wrinkles out. Also rehydrate by washing the face well before the exercise program will keep the face cooler and keeps the film of oil, etc. from blocking the pores in preventing acne pimples. You may have watched many working out in various health spas alternate between working with weights, a cooling shower, a swim in the pool and back to the weights, back in the shower, back in the pool, etc.

Swimming is an excellent choice of exercise for rosacea sufferers. Ideally one should swim in a properly treated indoor chlorinated pool (bromide treated pools are too harsh on the skin). Chlorine kills fungi, bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can worsen rosacea as well as acne and seborrheic dermatitis. The swimming pool water is usually 75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit, which is well below normal body temperature of 98.6 degrees. Thus, it cools the entire body, including the rosacea-affected areas, while providing excellent exercise to reduce mental stress and physical tension.

how do i fix this?I think Acne rosacea is causing my eyes to turn red.?
Indeed, roasacea can give a blepharitis. The best way to treat this is with oral antibiotics; however, some people will treat this with either a topical antibiotic, or even with baby shampoo..the oral way works better though.I think Acne rosacea is causing my eyes to turn red.?
Do you itch your eye and do you wear contacts?

Is there a natural treatment for rosacea?

Rosacea is a chronic acne-like eruption on the face, neck and shoulders of the mid-aged and older adults.

Here are mentions some preventive measures and natural remedy that help you to get rid of the severity of this problem.

    Prevention

鈥?Good facial hygiene along with a healthy low fat diet consisting of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean sources of protein can assist in prevention.

鈥?Keeping the bowels functioning properly by eating high-fiber diets and drinking plenty of water is also thought to be acne preventative.

鈥?If you are taking birth control pills, discuss the possibility of acne with your doctor.

    鈥?Avoid greasy or oily cosmetics.

鈥?Soaps that dry skin, such as deodorant soaps should be avoided.

鈥?Controlling stress may prevent acne flare-ups.

鈥?Avoid medications containing bromides or sulfides.

鈥?Topical steroid creams can prolong infection, and should therefore be avoided.

    Treatment

Oral antibiotics (such as tetracycline, minocycline, or doxycycline) or topical antibiotics (like metronidazole) applied to your face may control skin eruptions.

Other medications natural supplements most probably vitamin A, are stronger alternatives that your doctor or dermatologist might consider.

Use of antiseptic cream is also good to prevent spread of further infection.

  • Do you know of any over-the-counter treatments for rosacea?

    One method might be:

    B Vitamins

Inadequate riboflavin, caused by insufficient dietary intake or poor absorption in the digestive tract, may be associated with rosacea. One study found that Demodex folliculorum mites, which are normally found on the skin but more in larger numbers on the skin of rosacea patients, are more likely to affect the skin of animals in riboflavin. An increased number of mites may cause blockage of the pores from inflammation or may allow for the growth of bacteria on the skin.

Also.. If you can acquire Azelaic Acid Cream

Azelaic acid cream is derived from wheat, rye and barley. It appears to have antimicrobial action that slows the growth of skin bacteria and appears to be effective at reducing skin redness and papules and pustules associated with rosacea.

HOWEVER.. keep in mind: It is unknown exactly why antibiotics work against rosacea, but it is widely believed that it is due to their anti-inflammatory properties, rather than their bacteria-fighting capabilities. Normal skin surface bacteria are affected by antibiotics and their role is still being investigated or it appeares so. Thus, the cream mentioned above is not an antibiotic and if that cream does not work, you may have to get prescription medicine...antibiotics, that is.. and that is from the doctor. I presume you do not like prescription medicines and neither do I so I try anything first before getting prescription medicines.Do you know of any over-the-counter treatments for rosacea?
Ok, this may sound crazy, but it works for me. Use Noxzema like a face mask. put it on and let it dry on your face. It will take about half an hour. Rinse it off with really hot water. After doing this everyday, it cleared up the rosacea on my face. Good luck!Do you know of any over-the-counter treatments for rosacea?
I work for prescriptives cosmetics, and our customers have seen success with fragrance-free cleanser, ffand oil free moisturizer, spf15 or higher, and Dermapolish-an at home microdermabrasion kit that is formulated for even sensitive skins. This combo can help clear the symptoms of rosacea, but we make no medical claim.

Rosacea Granulomatous - non drug treatments ?

If you know of any non-drug treatments either dietary or topical for this skin condition that you know could help in some degree then suggestions most welcome. Thanks.Rosacea Granulomatous - non drug treatments ?
    Hi;

I am a medical student in Europe. How I got here ? I was looking for another Yahoo home page instead of the U.S. Yahoo.

This kind of rosacea can be quite problematic. It usually needs several months of drug treatment - but it is the only way to get rid of it.

In the web search I made I also found following advice : the patient should avoid known exacerbating factors, such as hot drinks, alcohol, and extremes of temperature. . and should be encouraged to use a noncomedogenic high-factor sunscreen when exposed to sunlight and wind.

But you need the drugs if we are talking Rosacea granulomatosa

    All the best !

i have treid all kinds of treatment, metrogel, antibiotics and all kinds of miracle treatments , but nothing has worked. Can anyone offer any advice please?Does anybody suffer from rosacea?
I have had bad rosacea for years. I too tried all types of stuff with no real success. Recently I tried using an anti-fungal cream, (Clotrimazol - prescribed for ringworm), not specified for rosacea, and it actually cleared up!

Before, my cheeks were bright red, really flaky, oily, irritated all of the time. Now I look pretty normal. I don't know why this worked, it just did. Also, you have got to cut out caffeine, and salty processed foods. Eat healthy, it helps.Does anybody suffer from rosacea?
Cutting out dairy products really helps but to be honest no amount of creams will help. Sorry x
There is no cure for rosacea. Treatment often helps keep symptoms under control and prevents the disease from getting worse. If left untreated, rosacea symptoms can get worse, recur more often, and eventually may become permanent.Treatment for the four main forms of rosacea vary depending on your symptoms. Erythematotelangiectatic. Symptoms include flushing and often thin, red lines (telangiectasias) on the face. Some people report stinging or burning of the face. Treatment may include oral antibiotics. Your skin may be too sensitive for you to use ointments on your face. In mild cases, you can apply a gentle anti-inflammatory product and sunscreen in the morning. If medication does not clear up the thin, red lines, which are tiny blood vessels, a form of laser surgery called pulsed dye laser therapy may help. Papulopustular. Symptoms include small pimples (pustules). You can also have facial flushing and tiny, red lines on your cheeks. Your doctor may prescribe ointments for your face or antibiotic medication. You may even use both at the same time. Skin tends to be less sensitive with this form of rosacea. Phymatous. Symptoms include thick, bumpy skin and large pores. The most common type affects the nose (rhinophyma Other types affect the chin, forehead, ears, and eyelids. You may also have flushing, pimples, and visible blood veins. Your doctor may prescribe isotretinoin for phymatous rosacea in its early stages. Surgery or laser resurfacing can reshape the nose in severe cases of rhinophyma. Ocular. Symptoms include red, dry, and irritated eyes. You may feel like something is in your eye. Your eyelids may swell or feel dry and flaky. In severe cases you may feel pain or have blurred vision. You can try artificial tears for dry eyes. Ointments work well for mild cases. Your doctor may prescribe antibiotic pills.

    Hope this helps

Would there EVER be a cure found for rosacea???

The chemicals in the SOAP you are using is probably making your condition WORSE…. (read on)

First STOP using commercial skin care! GO ORGANIC or ALL NATURAL. I had rosacea (red blemishes on the cheeks) until I started using TEA TREE OIL organic soap from: www.SANDYCREEKSOAP.etsy.com ($2.50 a bar). It cleared it up in like a week.... and this was something I battled with for YEARS!!!! You can tell the difference right away (like the first time). It doesn’t even feel like soap. I can’t explain it, it just FEELS good. It works on SO MANY things because it is a NATURAL antifungal, antiseptic : acne, rosacea, psoriasis, rashes, poison ivy, oak and sumac, dandruff, fungal conditions, etc. Just Google TEA TREE OIL to find out its MANY benefits, then get the bar or liquid and start using it. They are very helpful with skin problem questions, they will even design a bar for your skin type based on your skin conditions - now that’s not something you find everyday.... They only charged me like $5 bucks a bar for the custom.

You want/need HANDMADE or hand-milled soap made the old fashion way. If not them, then “someone” else who sells handmade organic. Their soaps has GLYCERIN in them (a natural moisture retainer). In STORE bought soap glycerin is sold for profit and replaced with a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate to add lather which is listed in the encyclopedia as a skin IRRITANT. I know, I couldn’t believe it either, but look it up! This chemical is found in 98% of ALL STORE bought soaps. SCARY, HU? READ THE BACK! (Even the ones claiming to be natural or clean). BUT (and I’m not trying to sell you on them) the soaps at SANDY CREEK SOAP COMPANY are organic, natural AND eco friendly. S%26amp;H is only like a dollar fifty, and I got my order in a few days. If you are on short notice ask for faster shipping. And best of all they are CHEAP! Most eco friendly products are so expensive you can’t AFFORD to save the world. Hope this helped....Would there EVER be a cure found for rosacea???

You have to play around with products to see which help you. Not everyone's Rosacea reacts the same.
