I have rosacea and need your help...?

I have rosacea on my cheeks and it is getting worse I would like for it to just go away is there anything , ie. oils, creams that I can use to help this go away, the quicker the betterI have rosacea and need your help...?
arbonne international Nutrimin RE9 really helped reduce the redness of my mild rosacea....maybe it will help for you, but anyone with rosacea should consult with a DR. prior to using any product onthe face.I have rosacea and need your help...?
Try a product called Pro-K - it really works!!

Looking for makeup to take the red out of my face (rosacea)?

Try Covergirl Clean Makeup Oil Control foundation. It's really light but offers a lot of coverage. It's also non-comedogenic because it's water-based instead of oil-based.Looking for makeup to take the red out of my face (rosacea)?
Powders with blue or greens can be very affective because they neutralize the redness.

Should I exfoliate since I have rosacea?

According to this booklet released by the www.rosacea.org website:

http://www.rosacea.org/patients/materials/coping/index.php

you should always treat your face in a gentle way, avoiding substances and textures that can harm your face. Exfoliating sounds a bad ideea to me.

  • Is rosacea the same as acne?

    Not at all.

Rosacea is something to do with the blood under your skin clotting (or something) and making red marks on your cheeks. (I have it and my mom too).

Acne is a serious amount of pimples under and on top of the skin.

If you think you have either visit a dermatologist and they can tell you exactly what the difference is and how you can fix the problem. Is rosacea the same as acne?
No it is not the same thing but tetracicile is prescribed for both and works very wellIs rosacea the same as acne?
    no

Do mineral foundations cover facial redness (rosacea)?

I can have pretty bad flare ups where i can be extremely pink in the face for like an hour at a time but i hate how much concealer i have to pileon to cover it up :(

Do mineral foundations cover extreme redness on their own? Which brands are the best?Do mineral foundations cover facial redness (rosacea)?
I have tried Bare Minerals, and have pretty average skin, no major redness, a few freckles, and I didn't like the coverage. I prefer to use a light foundation and powder on top. The powder will matte your face down after applying foundation, and lock the makeup in place. I would try that if I were you.Do mineral foundations cover facial redness (rosacea)?
I use ';Everyday minerals'; and it works pretty well. If you need help covering some facial redness, if you buy a light pink blush, it helps cover it up - Or anyway, it works for me. I bought the blush from the mineral foundations company.

I read a few places as well that any blush or foundation with hints of green help dim down the redness, but that'd be up to you to trying, I haven't found the use for it yet since I'm satisfied with my foundation and pink blush. :)
My mom's face is red almost all the time. You should use a very thin layer of liquid foundation and then put the powder mineral foundation over it with the amount you want. It works beautifully.
I'm permanently pink but i use rimmel mousse foundation which works brilliantly, not sure about mineral ones sorry!
They don't really cover it. However, I have this mineral dust called: BeneFit bluff dust. It gets rid of my rosacea and spider veins so well! And plus, it looks really natural.
Bare Escentuals!! a.k.a. Bare Minerals. It's light and doesn't feel cakey, but coverage is great.

Anyone know of treatment for Rosacea. It seemed to appear over night and the?

treaments suggested by the doctors has not worked and it appears to be getting worse. I have a good skin care regime and use a regular cleanser instead of soap and water.

I would be grateful for any help as I'm becoming very self concious about it as it has now become very noticableAnyone know of treatment for Rosacea. It seemed to appear over night and the?
    Hi.

The standard antibiotic creams for rosacea are very effective either orally ( a tetracycline) or topically ( metronidazole).

The do not however ';cure'; the conditon - so prolonged treatment may be needed.

If you have not yet had oral antibiotics then ask your Dr for a prescription.

If that fails to work then you need to consider that the diagnosis is not correct - ask for a second opinion or for a referral to a dermatologist.

Have you ever tried any products from Arbonne? I only ask as a friend started to use the Intelligence line and has said it's the only thing that has helped calm her Rosacea. I also know someone who said that the baby line they carry is the only cure for her Rosacea. Worth mentioning.
Use the most gentle skin care products you can . Cut down (or cut out) caffeine . Eat fruit and veg with orange flesh eg mango, apricot, squash.
Try taking a Vitamin B Complex supplement. B Vitamins help keep the skin healthy. Also, Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) deficiency in particular, has been linked to acne rosacea.

Another supplement worth trying is Evening Primrose Oil, the active constituent, GLA has anti-inflammatory properties and can help with inflammatory conditions such as acne rosacea.

Zinc will also help (15mg, preferably with copper) all skin conditions.

Also, it you can get hold of a marigold (Calendula officinalis) cream or a german camomile (Matricaria chamomilla) cream, or a Bach flower remedies cream it might help. Camomile and marigold both have soothing anti-inflammatory properties. And the Bach original flower remedies Rescue Cream has been known to help with some inflammatory skin conditions.

Another one is 'Golden Camomile' (chrysanthellum indicum). A cream containing an extract of this plant has been shown to be effective in clinical trials of patients with acne rosacea.

    Edited:

Also: Demodex mites have also been implicated in rosacea. Getting a doctors assessment on this would be a good idea as treatment might need to follow a different course if demodex mites are involved.

Rosacea can be controlled but not cured?....?

what exactly does this mean? can i get rid of rosacea with medicine, but only if i continue to use it, or does it mean my rosacea will be tamed if i keep using it? thanks.Rosacea can be controlled but not cured?....?
I have been a long time sufferer of rosacea as well.

It is not curable but treatable. Never use products with oils, perfumes etc. and the skin can be quite sensitive to these ingredients.

You can control the flare ups if you continue to use the appropriate products, but if you discontinue your medication or over the counter products or if you use products that aren't designed for rosacea your rosacea will not be tamed.

Have you been to a dermatologist. I highly recommend it. They can educate you on the proper products and medication that you can use.

    Good luck

  • A mild form of Rosacea, red cheeks.....?

What are good recommendations for it? In terms of Food %26amp; Skincare Regime's, Skincare Products that could potentially make it worse and to stay clear off. Best brand I should opt for?A mild form of Rosacea, red cheeks.....?
I was told to stay away form food that is too spicy because it can cause flushing which can make the rosacea worse. You should limit alcohol for the same reason (makes me very sad to say lol!).

Go for gentle products, my dermatologist recommended the Avene range to me. She also said to keep my skin clean.

You can wear makeup if you like, but do make sure that you cleanse well at night, and try to stick to the lightest one you can (hard I know when you want to cover the red).

If you are having a flare up, you may be prescribed a course of antibiotics followed by a medicated cream, but you shouldn't need to stay on medicated treatments as far as I'm aware...but it is possible she stopped mine because I'm pregnant.

I'd definitely recommend seeing a dermatologist because my GP had me on antibiotics for over a year and when I finally insisted on seeing a dermatologist she was shocked I'd been on them for so long. So, it's good to see an expert I think.

Good luck with it! Oh, and in the long-term, if it gets bad, you can have treatment such as IPL to get rid of the redness. If you're as vain as I am:)A mild form of Rosacea, red cheeks.....?
You cannot treat Rosacea with over the counter items. You need to see your doc for antibiotic therapy and specials creams. Use only Ivory soap to cleanse your skin and avoid makeup and other things that can aggrivate it.
I have that and I had my doctor prescribe metro gel for my face and it has done wonders for it. I would use cetiphil that helps as well.
I know this sounds crazy, but it works. spf 45 Really, it works.

    Wondering if I have Rosacea?

Hi i've been having red cheek marks similar to rosacea for a few years now. It seems to get more red if theres sunlight. I never had problems like this when i was a child. This problem only occurred after i used a lot of products to treat my acne during my teen years. The only symptoms i would have of Rosacea would be red cheeks, I don't have anything else. I was wondering if it is possible to obtain Rosacea since i heard its usually obtained through heredity.Wondering if I have Rosacea?
Could be Rosacea, but there is no single, specific test for Rosacea.

It can be confused with acne or dermatitis.Wondering if I have Rosacea?
    Hey

Sometimes using a lot of cosmetics (or wrong cosmetics) on your face can trigger rosacea. It might have started after you use products to treat your acne. If you have redness and little pimples, it could be rosacea.

You should use special skin care products to care for your skin.

rosacea makes skin sensitive and skin care products for rosacea are made with special ingredients.

    Rosacea

    Try This First

Fight flushing. Facial flushing, caused by the dilation of blood vessels, is the trigger mechanism for rosacea, says Mary P. Lupo, M.D., associate clinical professor of dermatology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. So simply avoid anything that makes your face flush.

The top five flushing triggers are emotional stress, heat, humidity, spicy foods, and alcohol, Dr. Lupo says. Other triggers include activities that get you sweating, hot beverages, and sunlight. And certain foods, like chocolate, can bring it on.

But what bothers one person may not cause a problem in another. You need to pinpoint your personal flushing trip wires, according to the National Rosacea Society, then change your habits to avoid them.

    ---

    Other Wise Ways

Apply a cold compress. When the flush hits, soak a washcloth in ice-cold water (or equal parts cold milk and ice water) and hold it on the affected area, recommends K. William Kitzmiller, M.D., dermatologist in private practice in Cincinnati. The cold will cause dilated blood vessels to constrict and will halt the inflammatory process, he explains. Apply for 10 minutes three times a day, as needed.

Reduce stress. stress ranks high on the trigger list of many people with rosacea. What鈥檚 the best way to reduce stress? Dr. Kitzmiller recommends the tried-and-true approach: regular healthy meals and snacks, reduced caffeine, regular exercise, and eight hours of sleep.

When you鈥檙e feeling stressed, try deep-breathing exercises, he says. Inhale and count to 10, then exhale and count to 10. Repeat this exercise several times.

Cleanse with care. It is important not to use abrasives or astringents, says Dr. Lupo. She recommends extraordinarily gentle liquid cleansers, such as Cetaphil, that contain sodium lauryl sulfate. This ingredient cleans skin without any stimulation that might cause flushing. You can wash your face up to two or three times a day, but always use cool water, Dr. Lupo cautions.

Avoid products that contain alcohol or irritants. For a gentle wipe, you can combine one tablespoon of chilled witch hazel with one pint of chilled water, Dr. Lupo says.
I think avoiding hot foods (tea, coffee) that would make one flush.

    Anyone else diagonsed with Rosacea?

I recently went to my dermatologist asking about two clear bumps on my face. She said they are just growths from too much sun and not to worry. Then she asked if I knew I had Rosacea. What the heck is that I replied. She continued to tell me that I have the beginning signs of it and that I need to use Metogel to treat it. I filled the perscription but have yet to use it because I am not convinced that I have it. The only sign of it that I barely see is that I have a few small broken blood vessels...but I really had to look to see them. Does anyone that has this skin condition have any commemts? Should I just start using the Metrogel just incase? Please help.Anyone else diagonsed with Rosacea?
I have it and have chosen not to use metrogel because I don't think there's enough evidence that it works for rosacea. Rosacea is incredibly common. Every other person I know has been diagnosed with it and it seems to manifest differently for each person. If you mention it to people (especially fair skinned people) many will say ';oh I have that too'; and then will describe symptoms that are totally different than yours. Sorry I can't be more helpful but it's a confusing diagnosis.Anyone else diagonsed with Rosacea?
I have recently been (confirmed) diagnosed with Rosacea and use Metrogel. I have had several other medical problems, so they at first thought it was a Lupus (butterfly) rash and did not treat it, which was fine with me because I do not believe you should put anything on or in your body without good cause. I started using Metrogel 3 months ago because of a fair determination that I did not suffer from Lupus and it may help the rash. I would express my concerns of necessity to the dermatologist and your General or Family Physician before starting Metrogel just to be sure it's needed. If you need it, I can tell you I love it. It feels nice on your face once you get it on and it dries, you do not need a huge amount for coverage (I use it on my cheeks, nose, forehead and chin) and my skin looks fabulous (prior to using I looked like somebody had thrown scalding water in my face; almost neon red looking in the last 6 months before using and not even one tiny whitehead or zit with my period). My skin is as beautiful as it had always been before becoming ill, I again receive compliments on how nice my skin looks from complete strangers. Hope this helps.

    Does Anyone Have Rosacea?

I have had Rosacea for about 15 years now. I have tried all of the different prescription medications on the market and to date, I still have the red flush cheeks and the butterfly rash. It's embarassing because people always comment on it. ';Wow, your face is so RED'; or they think I drink too much alcohol (I do not drink at ALL due to the Rosacea) or they make insensitive comments. Does anyone else have this condition and if so, how do you deal with it socially, emotionally and physically?Does Anyone Have Rosacea?
I think that Lil_Angel's answer is very complete. I have had personal good luck with photo facial. Be aware that you may look worse before you look better. This treatment basically can get rid of some of the surface blood vessels that are causing the redness (it can take 6 to 8 weeks to get rid of the bruising and redness that the machine causes). Sometimes there really is no pain too great for the price of beauty (even temporary ugliness). The main pain from this is just like a rubber band being snapped against your face. But your skin will look better.Does Anyone Have Rosacea?

Anyone know of over the counter or home remedies to treat the red puffiness and the itchy flaky skin?Home Remedies for Rosacea?
I wouldn't use anything on your skin that thins your skin(atrophy) like antibiotics. You have to ask why dermatologist haven't be able to cure a single case of Rosacea. Rosacea is redness(erythema). I had it and strictly avoided heat in all forms including heat from the sun. It took two years, but I don't have it anymore. The trick is to keep your skin from getting hot. Spray your skin with a mist of water while exercising.Home Remedies for Rosacea?
There are none. To keep it under control you need to use antibiotic therapy.

Does it sound like I'm getting rosacea?

A couple days ago, I started getting these pimples on my left cheek, and upper right corner of my eyebrows. The pinples are like in little patches. Then eventually, the one that was on my cheek is now rough and skin comes off when I scratch it. I also seem to have these dots on my neck, and behind my ears, except these ones itch, unlike the ones on my face.

My dad is irish/german, and my mom is japanese. My dad had no porblem with this, but my mom had bad acne, as well as my brother. (I really don't think what I have is acne, because I have acne wants in a while, and it's not the same as these pimples I have on my face now)

Do you think I have rosacea? I'm only 16, and I'm freaking out. How long will it take for the symptoms to get really bad? Bad as in my face turning all red? I really hope I don't have this disease :[ :[ :[Does it sound like I'm getting rosacea?
It is very unlikely that you have rosacea. You might just be breaking out for one reason or another (hormones, allergy, lots of other possibilities). Freaking out because you are worrying too much can be a reason for breaking out, so the best way to go is to calm down. Rosacea in its early stages tends to involve redness and flushing more than pimples or scaling. If I were you, I'd start by seeing an allergist if that is an option for you. Keep very clean, but don't over-scrub, and keep a record of when your breakouts are worse and when better. In the long run, that will help with a diagnosis. And please remember, the ';disease'; might just be your age.

    Is this rosacea or acne?

I am a 14 year old boy, I think this might be rosacea. It's little red dots under the skin in the middle of my forhead. It's not going away. I have heard of people getting rosacea when they are older but not my age.? So what do you think? Is this rosacea or acne?
You are too young for rosacea. Mostly, rosacea happens to adult especially women.

What is rosacea, and what can you do for it?

Rosacea is a skin disease that causes redness, pimples, and red lines on the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead. A rash over the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin often occurs. People sometimes call it ';adult acne'; because it can cause pimple-like outbreaks. Rosacea can also cause burning and soreness in the eyes and eyelids. There is no cure for rosacea. Treatment often helps keep symptoms under control and prevents the disease from getting worse. If left untreated, rosacea symptoms can get worse, recur more often, and eventually may become permanent. Treatment involves both oral and topical medicines. Oral antibiotics (such as tetracycline) are commonly prescribed; the dose may be initially high and then be tapered to maintenance levels.

A topical (skin) antibiotic cream such as metronidazole (Metrocream) is useful to reduces the inflammation and the redness. Other topical antibiotic creams include erythomycin and clindamycin (Cleocin). Short-term topical cortisone (steroid) preparations of the right strength may also be used to reduce local inflammation. Some doctors are trying tretinoin (Retin-A) or isotretoin (Accutane), prescription medications also used for acne, or permethrin (Elimite) cream, which is used for the mites that cause scabies. What is rosacea, and what can you do for it?
Rosacea is a reddish skin rash that comes and goes to the face. Some patients can develop thick skin to the nose like Bill Clinton and WC Fields. Although there are several treatments, I have a lot of success treating my patients with a gel called MetroGel. Stubborn cases may require lasersurgery...What is rosacea, and what can you do for it?
Rosacea is a chronic (long-term) disease that affects the skin and sometimes the eyes. The disorder is characterized by redness, pimples, and, in advanced stages, thickened skin. Rosacea usually affects the face; other parts of the upper body are only rarely involved.
Rosacea (pronounced roh-ZAY-sha) is a common but little-known disorder of the facial skin that affects an estimated 14 million Americans -- and most of them don't know it. In fact, while rosacea is becoming increasingly widespread as the populous baby boom generation enters the most susceptible ages, a Gallup survey found that 78 percent of Americans have no knowledge of this condition, including how to recognize it and what to do about it.

Because of its red-faced, acne-like effects on personal appearance, however, it can cause significant psychological, social and occupational problems if left untreated.

In recent surveys by the National Rosacea Society, nearly 70 percent of rosacea patients said this condition had lowered their self-confidence and self-esteem, and 41 percent reported it had caused them to avoid public contact or cancel social engagements. Among rosacea patients with severe symptoms, nearly 70 percent said the disorder had adversely affected their professional interactions, and nearly 30 percent said they had even missed work because of their condition.

While the cause of rosacea is unknown and there is no cure, today medical help is available that can control the signs and symptoms of this potentially life-disruptive disorder. Any one of the following warning signs is a signal to see a dermatologist or other knowledgeable physician for diagnosis and appropriate treatment before the signs and symptoms become increasingly severe:

    * Redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead.

    * Small visible blood vessels on the face.

    * Bumps or pimples on the face.

    * Watery or irritated eyes.

    What does rosacea mean?

Rosacea is an inflammatory skin disease that causes facial redness. You may mistake some of its characteristics 鈥?small, red, pus-filled bumps or pustules 鈥?for acne. In fact, rosacea has been called adult acne or acne rosacea, but the disease has little to do with the pimples and blackheads that commonly afflict teenagers. It's also a misconception that this red-faced condition is caused by drinking alcoholic beverages.

Rosacea affects mostly adults, usually people with fair skin, between the ages of 30 and 60. About 14 million Americans have this chronic skin condition. Although it's more common in women, men may develop more apparent signs of the disorder. It's not life-threatening, but it can affect your appearance and lower your self-esteem.

Left untreated, rosacea tends to be progressive, which means it gets worse over time. However, in most people rosacea is cyclic, which means it may flare up for a period of weeks to months and then signs and symptoms lessen for a while before rosacea flares up again. Besides acne, rosacea can also be mistaken for other skin problems, such as skin allergy or eczema. Once diagnosed, it's quite treatable.

    1. Check out lindasy.com it's a dermatologists site in CA. Amazing products for rosacea. Sunscreen is the first step in keeping rosacea under control. Plus, they have moisturizers especially for rosacea sufferers. All of their products are ';over the counter';.

    2. Stay out of the sun. Or, if you have to be out in it, protect yourself with sunscreen and even a hat.

    3. Finacea is great -- it keeps roseacea from ';flaring up'; - and might even help minimize pores. Use it twice a day if your dermo says ok... But, NOT if you are trying to get pregnant.

    4. Jojoba oil - I know it sounds crazy, putting oil on your face. But put a few drops of it in your hand and mix with some water and splash on your face. I think it helps with inflammation. You will notice smoother skin in a couple days of use.

Good luck -- Rosacea is the worst, but there are ways of keeping it in check so it doesn't get worse.Rosacea: Huge pores, red %26amp; dry cheeks: HELP!?
Be sure to mix the jojoba oil w/ some water and just ';pat it'; on (then apply any topical meds you use) Also, ask your doctor about using ';Atopiclair'; it's a steroid-free topical cream- but not sure if it's ok to use if you want to get pregnant. It's really improved the texture of my skin. Report Abuse

This may sound crazy but I once got stress induced rosacea, my family doctor gave me a topical crea, that I used, it was clear and dried fast so I could use it in the morning and at night.... it worked amazingly. You might ask for a cream, since you don't want to be taking a pill, which is completely understandable for the situation. To get make-up out of your skin you might want to try a face mask you can use at night... something that dries and kind of like sucks the make-up out of your pores by opening them up and drieing in them. Definitely want to use it at night because when I use a thick mask that dries like that on my face, my face gets really red and tingly, but it's just clean... feels awesome.

    Hope this helps!
    Dear Purpleal

I feel your pain because I too have had skin issues. But the last six years, I've had absolutely gorgeous skin - why? Aularale Cosmetics (aularale.com/7002). Everything is for sensitive skin. Check out the website (Aularale TV) - there are step by step instructions there to help you rid yourself of dead/dry skin, tighten/firm skin and close pores. And best of all, the make up is water based and matches my skin tone. It feels like I'm wearing nothing at all. In addition to the skin care regimen, drink more water and eat more fruit/veggies.

    Good luck!
you need metrogel thats what my mom uses
i was diagnosed this year and was precribed an antibiotic and metrogel i took the antibiotics for about 3 months and use the metrogel everynight i went last month and had 5 laser geneis treatments it really helpep with the redness and made my skin so soft
You really have to use your medication and let your skin clear. Rosacea is tough to treat. It's really trial and error to find products that won't bother your skin. Go to rosacea.org. They may have a better idea of what could work for you.

Don't even. Go to a skin specialist, dermatologist or esthetician who knows what they're doing. You can pretty much get rid of it these days with the amazing products made for it. They are expensive though.Has anyone used flax seed oil topically? I have rosacea and I was thinking of using it. Any thoughts?
I'm not sure on that one. It might be better to take the capsules instead that way it goes thru your system. I also have rosacea and I saw a dermatologist, got a topical antibiotic for it. If it wasn't for my insurance it would really be expensive. They can also give you a diet that will help. Here are a few things that can make it worse, cheese, spicy foods, chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, spinach, sour cream, and other foods. Stress is a big facter and heat.

What is worse for Rosacea...Vodka or beer?

When it comes to rosacea and alcohol, everyone is different. Some will react to all types of alcohol. Some react to higher concentrations of alcohol but can tolerate lower concentrations. All you can do is try it and monitor your reaction to it. If alcohol aggravates it, you might have to avoid drinking unless you are prepared to deal with the effects on your rosacea.

Does anyone have Rosacea a*k*a adult acne?

I was recently told I had Rosacea a-k-a Adult acne. I was using products for an average teen acne that I thought I still had, but then found out it was making my skin worse with break outs because the Rosacea made my skin more sensitive. I do still get break outs...What should I be using. I have been using Cetaphil anti-bacterial cleanser and also an Aloe Vera Gel. Is this right or not? I cant afford to see a derm.. at the moment.. Need advice with anyone with this personal experience...Does anyone have Rosacea a*k*a adult acne?
i hate to admit this because it's gross. But I was told the same thing, one doctor would say rosacea, another acne, none of the treatments would work. Finally, I discovered that I had a bacterial infection under the skin. I wasted alot of money and time only to find that rubbing a little athlete's foot cream on my face each night for about 3 days got rid of the problem permanently. I know it's kinda icky but if you can't get to a really good doctor you might want to try it. It can't really hurt.Does anyone have Rosacea a*k*a adult acne?
dont worry, clean and clear is way better. and yes i still have acne, don't worry its only natural.
All u do to avoid acne is wash ur face more and dun eat hot stuff or chocolate.
A lot of people probably do... don't worry about it. Your'e fine.
rosacea is not adult acne. you should learn the difference because acne medicines will just dry out your skin more causing it to become more red. go to a dermitologist and get prescribed creams.
First of all Rosacea is not AKA adult acne. They are 2 separate skin disorders. Probably why acne products are making it WORSE. Rosacea is treated with specific medications prescribed by a dermatologist. Keep using a gentle moisturizer and you can see your primary doctor regarding rosacea, you don't have to see a dermatologist if you can't afford to.
You will need special cream and sometimes pills from the Dermatologist. Avoid caffeine, spicy food and alcahol. It makes skin worse.
you need a perscription for cream that you would use twice daily (morning %26amp; bedtime)

Use luke war water and a VERY mild cleanser.

    Good Luck

there are some truely brilliant products out there!

dermalogica have a great cleanser....(not too drying,) it麓s called anti bac cleanser.

it麓s designed to remove any bacteria which may spread.

if you stay healthy your blood circulation is far better.

whe you麓re un-fit you tend to get redder skin when excercising or hot!....so this will only increase your redness.

you could always wear a subtle tinted moisturiser, as it's softer than a foundation. ask a profesional for advise on how to apply it as you don't want people to realise you're wearing it.

keep eating healthy! - often the factor of healthy skin!
Step one is to see a dermatologist.
go to a store and get some blemish cream first of all! i am a 17 yr old girl and i have rosacea but make up can cover mine lol. but the clean and clear brand blemish cream really helps!!

    Exfoliating and rosacea?

I've been told repeatedly by people and my dermatologist that people with rosacea shouldn't efoliate, but I also know that exfoliating is essential because it clears away dead skin and cells. I used to exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week before my rosacea, but now I only do it once a week and when I do my rosacea gets really irritated so I know it's bad for it. So how should someone with rosacea exfoliate?Exfoliating and rosacea?
I have eczema, which causes me to have a lot of dead skin cell buildup on my face. So I have to exfoliate, even if it does irritate my skin slightly. There's a little bit of redness intially, but it wears off after a short while.

If you're going to exfoliate, you should do it as gently as possible. Maybe use a soft baby wash cloth or just your fingers, rather than an abrasive scrub.

My method - In the morning after I wash my face, I put on lotion or sunblock while my face is still wet. A few hours before bed I exfoliate with just warm water and my regular liquid cleanser. The lotion applied earlier in the day seems to breakup the dead skin cells and makes them easier to remove.

Is there any homemade treatments for rosacea?

    Understanding Rosacea -- Treatment

How Do I Know If I Have It?

Rosacea is diagnosed by examination of the facial skin. The presence of enlarged blood vessels will distinguish it from other skin disorders. Early diagnosis and treatment is important to control rosacea and prevent its progression.

    What Are the Treatments?

There is no cure for rosacea. The primary goal of treatment is to control the redness, inflammation, and skin eruptions. The biggest key to controlling rosacea is to avoid triggers -- factors that cause the skin to flush.

Common triggers include sun exposure, very hot or very cold weather, strong winds, alcohol, very hot or very cold foods, spicy foods, use of certain cosmetics, intense exercise, and stress. In addition, menopause and some medicines may cause flushing. To help identify your triggers, keep a diary of when symptoms appear, what you were doing, the environmental conditions and what you think may have brought on your symptoms. Discuss this with your doctor.

Proper skin care can also help. Use very mild skin cleansers and high-quality, non-oily cosmetics and moisturizers to help prevent irritation. Also use a sunscreen with a sun-protection factor (SPF) of at least 15 to help prevent symptoms triggered by sunlight.

If these measures aren't enough, long-term treatment with oral antibiotics such as tetracycline or erythromycin or oral isotretinoin, a vitamin-A derivative, has been shown to control skin eruptions and curb the progression of rosacea. In most cases, results take several weeks to appear, so patience and diligence are required. Because there is no cure for rosacea, treatment with prescription medication is often required for months to years to control symptoms.

In addition, dermatologists commonly prescribe topical antifungals, antibiotics (such as metronidazole), corticosteroids, tretinoin, or sulfur preparations to treat rosacea. In more advanced cases, laser surgery may be used to eliminate visible blood vessels or excess skin tissue caused by rhinophyma.

My girl friend has terrible Rosacea?

On her face, it really upsets her and she's tried allot of things to help but nothing really works.

Has anyone ever had severe rosacea and helped cure it? I was also wondering if it is a reaction to something that aggravates it like an allergic reaction. I would appreciate anyone鈥檚 helpMy girl friend has terrible Rosacea?
Me too - she needs to avoid dairy, and use really plain creams (Simple range is good from Boots - UK) and make-up on her face. (better with no make-up but if she's embarrassed about it she'll want it covered up) and no smoking!

And don't use toner - ever!

x And also telling her she's beautiful helps loads and loads! My girl friend has terrible Rosacea?
Try to stay out of the sun, this can cause a flare up. If you can find a sunscreen that she can tolerate on her face, that would be even better. I have found that anything you can put on that creates a barrier between your face and the environment really works (i.e. makeup, sunscreen) to control the rosacea. If she has a flareup (especially if her face feels hot), she can try a diaper rash cream (not the ointment, which is more likely to irritate the skin) like A%26amp;D cream. Don't try any steroid creams, temporarily they will help, but eventually it will cause a rebound reaction (waaay worse to deal with!!!). I haven't had a real flareup for a long time...hope this helps!!!!

I have also heard that some people keep a food diary to try and id some possible causes (i.e. hot/spicy food, alcohol, etc.)
Sun, alcohol, caffeine are irritants, yes and can cause a flare up of rosacea.

She should see a dermatologist if it's bothering her that much. I don't think anything that's over the counter would help her if it's as terrible as you say it is.
There are many triggers that make rosacea condition becomes worse such as alcohol, hot drink, hot water. May be you should find more information regard this to relieve the condition.

Avoid alcohol if you can, use sensitive skin products (natural products), and use green tea when you have a flare up... seriously. Hold a lukewarm soaking green tea bag to your cheeks for a few minutes, and the heat and flush will diminish.

I am on topical rosacea creams (sulfacetamide) and I do the baby shampoo cleansing routine. It all helps the burning sensation and makes my eyes feel better. BUT! My eyes are so red and I have these horrible purplish-red circles under my eyes. I always look dead tired even when I am not. I can't look at myself or pictures of myself without feeling horrible about my eyes. I used to like my eyes so much and now they look terrible. It is messing with my self esteem in a big way. Ideas? So I have Blepharaitus caused by rosacea...help?
I am not familiar with rosacea but I have had Blepharitis all my life (and so has my mom). My mom was very sensitive to the baby shampoo cleansing; it irritated her skin also. It may be helping your eye lids but irritating the skin under your eyes. Have you tried Polysporin ointment on your eyelids near your lashes (at night)? This works miracles for me. You don't even need the Ophthalmic Polysporin; just buy the one you get in the drug stores. It's much cheaper than the ophthalmic ointment and 99% the same. An eye-doc recommended that to me years ago. Good luck.

Having ROSACEA and having just SENSITIVE SKIN.. whats the difference?

all of a sudden ever since 4 months ago, my face is getting rough.. i figured it would be from using a new product but im not sure. i tingles when my face gets oily or even dry, which makes my face turn a bit pinkishHaving ROSACEA and having just SENSITIVE SKIN.. whats the difference?
I have the same thing happening when I use an alpha hydroxy cream. I don't know if that's the cause or not, but my skin is sensitive, and if I use a cream with a fragrance, it seems to break me out in a little red rash that looks a lot like rosacea. I've just avoided suntan lotions, fragranced creams, and alpha hydroxy. I hope that helps good luckHaving ROSACEA and having just SENSITIVE SKIN.. whats the difference?
I had to stop using toners, because I had the same thing happen. I researched rosacea and the web site I was reading from said that people with rosacea should avoid toners. So, I stopped using it and my skin got smoother, the tingly feeling stopped, and the redness faded. So you may have mild rosacea. It could be hereditary. I also use Spectro jel, and it works well for me. No moisturizers. Just wash with Spectrojel and that's it.
I need to know where has your face been.
Rosacea and sensitive are 2 complete opposites. Rosacea is a chronic form of acne seen in many adults of all ages and is associated with the permanent dilatation of groups of superficial capillaries and venules... One of the causes is an elevated estrogen level. That's why with rosacea, the face gets so red because of the capillaries so close to the skin. It's very very hard to get rid of rosacea Sensitive skin is just that... sensitive to certain products that will cause a reaction. All you have to do to get rid of sensitive skin, is to stop using whatever product causes you this problem.. May I suggest Eucerin Cream. It is orderless, no perfume, it;'s meant for people like you. Because it is so thick, use plain water on your face, apply tthe cream over the water. I use it and it's wonderful. Hope I helped

    Does rosacea include excessive dryness?

i was diagnosed w/ it and given prescription medication for rosacea but the dryness will not go away. it is ugly thick peeling, and really my nose wouldn't have been red if the skin didn't peel off in thick layers exposing the pink moist skin underneath. (i can't afford to go back to the dermatologist bcz my insurance won't cover it so i'd like to know if anyone out there has experienced this symptom as part of rosacea and i know i should be asking a dermatologist instead of asking on yahoo answers and tks for your concern)Does rosacea include excessive dryness?
Yes, I had Rosacea and a similar related condition and my skin was dry. Dermatologist do not really understand Rosacea, so they prescribe antibiotic or steroid creams. This is wrong. This causes further skin thinness(atrophy). Rosacea is red skin(erythema). Your nose is red initially from overexpose to heat. Heat from the sun, from steam, whatever. Now that your skin is thin, you get a reaction to hot food, alcohol, cold, and the other triggers. What you need to do is to avoid heat in all forms. This includes the sun. Do not put lotions on your nose that contain oil. This traps in the heat and they literally boil on your face in the hot sun. It will take about two years for your skin to heal. Spray your skin with cool water when your face gets hot when exercising. Keep your skin from overheating and it will heal slowly. Moisturise the skin with a mild lotion like Aveeno, but never go leave it on when you go out in the sun.Does rosacea include excessive dryness?
There is no cure for rosacea, and it will not heal itself. Report Abuse

Rosacea usually causes excessive oiliness of the skin, not dryness. But some commonly used prescription medications for rosacea (especially those that contain higher concentrations of retinoic acid) do cause dryness and peeling of the skin. If your prescription medication is a retinoic acid cream, you could try to use it less frequently. You also need a good lotion. But the best thing to do would be to go back to see the dermatologist...
    sure

  • IPL laser treatment for rosacea?

I have rosacea and I was wondering if anyone has tried IPL laser treatments to solve this problem. If so, I wish to know if it worked, how many treatments it took, how much it cost, and what type of lasers were used. I live near Beverly Hills so I can pretty much get any treatment done, but I want to know what works and I trust patients ten times more than doctors! Any suggestions?IPL laser treatment for rosacea?
I am a licensed Medical Aesthetician who suffered from rosacea for years and have received about five Intense Pulse Light treatments. Not only did it work incredibly well to where I finally felt confident enough to going out in public without a ton of makeup, but it improved my skin's texture as well. I work for a plastic surgeon who purchased an IPL three years ago and I became the primary operator of the IPL and have seen many clients suffering from rosacea have their skin turn from ruddy red to calm and clear with IPL. Depending on how severe your case is will depend on how many treatments you will need but expect no less than three to be wowed by the results. The IPL I use in my work is made by Syneron. Look for a mineral make-up that does not contain bismuth oxychloride. This causes more redness and irritation. Try Everyday Minerals. They will send you a sample kit with 3 foundations, 1 concealer, and a blush for the cost of shipping. It is a good way to try it and it will answer your question about mineral make-up.

Does acutane work to cure Rosacea?

    Hi Jason

Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood.

    Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems.';

    Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body's overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin.';

Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.

Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification - Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease.

    Natural Cures

    1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot %26amp; spinach, celery %26amp; watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.

    2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause skin issues and all other diseases.

    3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.

    4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.

    5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.

  • Rosacea Skin, Adult Acne, Symptoms, Diet & Treatment?

Trying demodex folliculorum shampoo, seabuckhorn oil and meds for rosacea scar treatment. Is avobenzone sunscreen, cleansers, even ayurveda any use?Rosacea Skin, Adult Acne, Symptoms, Diet %26amp; Treatment?
Rosacea is a very common skin condition that causes redness, swelling and acne like bumps mostly on the face, though this skin disorder can also effect the scalp, neck, ears, chest and back - sometimes even the eyes.

More often than not, people mistakenly attribute their awful looking complexions to adult acne, when in fact rosacea is the cause. Today over 14 million Americans, and more than 45 million people worldwide suffer and struggle with silent symptoms.

Some of the suspected causes of Rosacea include:

    1. a combination of heredity and environment

    2. an immune system disorder

    3. a more generalized vascular disease, where rosacea is a subcomponent of the other condition (those with rosacea do flush easily)

    4. an infection of the stomach caused by H pylori bacteria.

Doctors do know that rosacea often passes down through generations. Other key risk factors include:

    5. Being fair skinned

    6. Being of northern European or Celtic origin (although rosacea has been observed in African American's and others with highly pigmented skin tones)

    7. Being female

Probably the most confusing (not to mention costly) part of managing your rosacea is finding the right products. Cleansers. Sunscreens. Moisturizers. They'll all become a part of your skin care routine. There's also some great makeup and concealers you can use to cover up your symptoms during flare ups, without making things worse. Your doctor might talk with you about topical and oral medications, as well as some of the state-of-the-art treatments like laser therapy, dermabrasion, microdermabrasion or cosmetic procedures that can help.

All the best medical help in the world isn't enough if you aren't willing to do your part as well. Avoiding the triggers (once you know what they are) is key. Eating right, and sensible supplementing (with your doctor's okay of course) also can make a world of difference in how you look. You can have that healthy, glowing complexion you've always wanted, so long as you're willing to make sincere lifestyle changes to help keep your symptoms under control.

Once you know for sure what you're dealing with, you can take steps right away to make things better.

    Does anybody suffer from rosacea?

i have treid all kinds of treatment, metrogel, antibiotics and all kinds of miracle treatments , but nothing has worked. Can anyone offer any advice please?Does anybody suffer from rosacea?
I have had bad rosacea for years. I too tried all types of stuff with no real success. Recently I tried using an anti-fungal cream, (Clotrimazol - prescribed for ringworm), not specified for rosacea, and it actually cleared up!

Before, my cheeks were bright red, really flaky, oily, irritated all of the time. Now I look pretty normal. I don't know why this worked, it just did. Also, you have got to cut out caffeine, and salty processed foods. Eat healthy, it helps.Does anybody suffer from rosacea?
Cutting out dairy products really helps but to be honest no amount of creams will help. Sorry x
There is no cure for rosacea. Treatment often helps keep symptoms under control and prevents the disease from getting worse. If left untreated, rosacea symptoms can get worse, recur more often, and eventually may become permanent.Treatment for the four main forms of rosacea vary depending on your symptoms. Erythematotelangiectatic. Symptoms include flushing and often thin, red lines (telangiectasias) on the face. Some people report stinging or burning of the face. Treatment may include oral antibiotics. Your skin may be too sensitive for you to use ointments on your face. In mild cases, you can apply a gentle anti-inflammatory product and sunscreen in the morning. If medication does not clear up the thin, red lines, which are tiny blood vessels, a form of laser surgery called pulsed dye laser therapy may help. Papulopustular. Symptoms include small pimples (pustules). You can also have facial flushing and tiny, red lines on your cheeks. Your doctor may prescribe ointments for your face or antibiotic medication. You may even use both at the same time. Skin tends to be less sensitive with this form of rosacea. Phymatous. Symptoms include thick, bumpy skin and large pores. The most common type affects the nose (rhinophyma Other types affect the chin, forehead, ears, and eyelids. You may also have flushing, pimples, and visible blood veins. Your doctor may prescribe isotretinoin for phymatous rosacea in its early stages. Surgery or laser resurfacing can reshape the nose in severe cases of rhinophyma. Ocular. Symptoms include red, dry, and irritated eyes. You may feel like something is in your eye. Your eyelids may swell or feel dry and flaky. In severe cases you may feel pain or have blurred vision. You can try artificial tears for dry eyes. Ointments work well for mild cases. Your doctor may prescribe antibiotic pills.

    Hope this helps

    Any experience of rosacea?

I am taking oxy and have been given weird oinkments. Anybody got any other ideas?Any experience of rosacea?
I've had severe Rosacea for about 19 years (am 49 now)

over 12 years, the doctors tried every single antibiotic used to treat my Rosacea (Minicycline, Tetracycline, Oxytetracycline, Doxycycline, Erythromycin, etc., etc.........none worked. I also had Metrogel. That made it worse. I had steroid creams. They worked initially, but cause thinning of the skin, and when I stopped using them, the Rosacea was worse than ever before. The ONLY thing that worked was ROACCUTANE (Only prescribed by a dermatologist), and I had 5 courses of it, over about 8 years. My skin is under control now.

Various things can trigger it to flare up. With me, the following:

heat (hot baths, the sun, central heating)

    cold

    stress

any spicy foods......curries, chilli, anything with ginger (even 1 ginger biscuit!)

citrus fruits........lemon, lime, pineapple, orange, tomatoes

ALL alcohol (including the type of alcohol found in some cosmetics)

anything containing caffeine......Cola, tea, coffee, cocoa, chocolate

I am very careful not to use anything harsh on my face. I use ';Simple'; soap and moisturising lotion, and wash with lukewarm water, patting my face dry, never rubbing it.

I have VEIL camouflage cream and powder, on prescription, which I wear instead of normal make-up. It gives excellent coverage, and has an SPF of 50

    Any experience of rosacea?
From 'what doctors don't tell you ' web site, one question, three answers:

A woman wants some information about rosacea, a skin disorder typically characterised by facial redness, pimples, or thickened skin. She uses a mild cleanser twice daily and rinses with cold water, following with an oil-free moisturiser. She鈥檚 tried rose hip oil but without effect, avoids alcohol, sugar and grains, and takes chlorella. What else should she be doing?

    1

Rosacea is commonly set off by monosodium glutamate (MSG), often found in Chinese food, so be on the lookout for that connection. Alternatively, nightshade plants (potatoes, tomatoes, aubergine and peppers) could be triggering your flare-ups, so remove them from your diet for a while and see what happens. If there鈥檚 a connection, stay away from belladonna as well; that homeopathic remedy is a member of the nightshade family. A freelance health and beauty journalist wrote in to warn against using any kind of soap at all, regardless of what it says it鈥檚 made of. Soaps are made using caustic soda, so opt for non-soap cleansing bars. Dermalogica do one and so do other skin care companies. In addition, avoid any toiletry products containing petrochemicals. A number of products are based on pure plant extracts and have no petrochemical derivatives, such as Henry Tianus, A鈥檏in and Prima Vera.

    2

One woman believes there is a connection between rosacea and the digestive system and now drinks carrot juice daily (anti-inflammatory) and eats live yoghurt. Some suggest a link with helicobacter pylori and she has found that a spoonful of manuka honey three times a day seems to help with flare-ups. Another reader suggests trying a Swiss product called Panacnea (Bioligo Laboratories), which cleared up her rosacea entirely. In addition, she stays away from soap, sun, the cold and alcohol. Yet another long-term sufferer discovered an enzyme called Serrapeptase (www.serrapeptase.info), which is produced by silkworms and has been used by the medical profession in Germany for more than 30 years. It is used to prevent heart surgery as it cleanses the cardiovascular system. As a side effect, however, her rosacea disappeared within four weeks.

    3

To control this condition without antibiotics, take belladonna 200c, 1 pilule 4 times a day. Make sure your shampoos and face products are free of irritants - try Kiss My Face olive-herbal calendula soap, aromatherapy herbal water, shea butter and emu oil. Avoid the sun, in any season and in any intensity. Massage the face rigorously and regularly; use a calming salve if noticeably inflamed. Use little or no makeup; Boots Green cream will cover the rosy colour when necessary. Spicy foods and caffeine can also exacerbate your condition; instead, get good bacteria into your system through yoghurt and acidophilus. One woman had brilliant results after drinking Forever Living Aloe Vera and using the gel topically. Flagyl (MetroGel), oregano oil, MSM (3-5 grams a day) and topical urea cream (prescription only) were also recommended. Whatever your other tactics, remember to drink two litres of water each day.
Rosacea is a common skin disorder. There are steps that you can take. Our recent blog entry descirbes the condition and steps you can take to improve a flare up and prevent the next one. Best of luck!

What are the best moisturizers for sensitive+rosacea skin?

    More on this here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2151919/tips_for_dealing_with_rosacea.html?cat=69

Moisturizers with short ingredients lists are best. The shorter the ingredients list, the less likely it is that the product will irritate you. Garden of Wisdom (gardenofwisdom.com) makes excellent skincare products with very simple ingredients. The Garden of Wisdom Fruity Meow Meow lotion (4 ounces, $21) is very light and will not clog acne-prone skin despite containing a few oils. The Garden of Wisdom Azule Base Cream is a moisturizing cream that includes chamomile oil, one of the few essential oils that actually soothes irritated rosacea skin.

In the drugstore, look for Complex 15 ($10, 8 ounces) or Vanicream. Both are gentle, bland, fragrance-free options.

Derma E Psorzema Creme ($20, 4 ounces) is an excellent moisturizer for people with skin problems. It contains many botanical extracts included to heal and soothe skin. Chamomile and burdock extracts heal while neem extract works at killing off the bacteria that make rosacea worse. What are the best moisturizers for sensitive+rosacea skin?
Short answer: a moisturizer that contains no fragrance and the least possible number of ingredients.

Dose rosacea on the scalp cause baldness or hair loss??

Rosacea on the scalp.. well.. this is rare unless the person has been bald for years and stays under the sun for long time.. usually seen in the nose, cheeks, forehead and chin.. and yea i think if its in the scalp it could cause baldness and hair loss due to inflammation of the hair follicle..

I just found out I have rosacea?

My doctor just told me I have rosacea and I'm seeing my dermatologist soon. But the thing I'm worried about is if what they will give me will help with it. I really want to get rid of this because my face is always a little red and gets red for no reason and its embarrassing. Any one else going through this?I just found out I have rosacea?
I know it may sound fruity but I wouldn't count out makeup just because you're a guy. I have been using concelelar to cover up my rosacea when I go out to clubs for the last month or so and it's working really well. Woman def. respond better to me and approach me more when I'm wearing makeup. If I ever was confronted I would just explain that I was covering up an actual skin disease (true) Male makeup is designed to be invisible to the naked eye and is pretty undetectable. Clinique makes a pretty good line of it. Don't cake it on just apply a little over your red spots to try and even out the sking tone. I just found out I have rosacea?
I have rosacea (and have had it for several years).

I hope that your Doctor mentioned to you to say out of the sun. Sunlight will make rosacea more noticable. Depending on whether you are male or female, I would recommend, to balance out your face, using a blush or sun blush look in order to balance yourself out.

Usually, to make people stop and think, whenever someone says to me that my face is red, I remark that I was away to an island over the weekend and ended up with sunburn. People ususally don't say anything anymore.

Believe me, more people than not, have rosacea.

Have a lovely rest of the day. Happy Labor Day Weekend.

I know it might sound silly, however, Arbonne's Baby Care line is perfect for people with extremely sensitive skin. The have a body lotion and body oil that are botanically-based and pH correct, dermatologist tested, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and formulated without nut oils. They're formulated with shea butter which is a unique botanical that soothes, moisturizes and protects skin. With its key components of vitamin A and E, all types of skin (including sensitive) can benefit from shea butter鈥檚 supreme, conditioning effects. Its non-toxic makeup and skin-tolerable trait make it ideal for use on sensitive skin. You cannot purchase Arbonne through retails stores. I think that it's best to try a product first to ensure that's it's beneficial to you before spending your money. If you're open to trying a free sample, I'll be happy to help you. Good luck!

The chemicals in the SOAP you are using is probably making your condition WORSE…. (read on)

First STOP using commercial skin care! GO ORGANIC or ALL NATURAL. I had rosacea (red blemishes on the cheeks) until I started using TEA TREE OIL organic soap from: www.SANDYCREEKSOAP.etsy.com ($2.50 a bar). It cleared it up in like a week.... and this was something I battled with for YEARS!!!! You can tell the difference right away (like the first time). It doesn’t even feel like soap. I can’t explain it, it just FEELS good. It works on SO MANY things because it is a NATURAL antifungal, antiseptic : acne, rosacea, psoriasis, rashes, poison ivy, oak and sumac, dandruff, fungal conditions, etc. Just Google TEA TREE OIL to find out its MANY benefits, then get the bar or liquid and start using it. They are very helpful with skin problem questions, they will even design a bar for your skin type based on your skin conditions - now that’s not something you find everyday.... They only charged me like $5 bucks a bar for the custom.

You want/need HANDMADE or hand-milled soap made the old fashion way. If not them, then “someone” else who sells handmade organic. Their soaps has GLYCERIN in them (a natural moisture retainer). In STORE bought soap glycerin is sold for profit and replaced with a chemical called sodium lauryl sulfate to add lather which is listed in the encyclopedia as a skin IRRITANT. I know, I couldn’t believe it either, but look it up! This chemical is found in 98% of ALL STORE bought soaps. SCARY, HU? READ THE BACK! (Even the ones claiming to be natural or clean). BUT (and I’m not trying to sell you on them) the soaps at SANDY CREEK SOAP COMPANY are organic, natural AND eco friendly. S%26amp;H is only like a dollar fifty, and I got my order in a few days. If you are on short notice ask for faster shipping. And best of all they are CHEAP! Most eco friendly products are so expensive you can’t AFFORD to save the world. Do you think this could be rosacea?

Off %26amp; on for the last year, I've gotten this really dry, itchy rash on my face with these little white bumps. They're not like pimples. They're just raised bumps. And they're very irritated %26amp; kinda painful. My face feels really tight too. The area it affects is usually my cheeks, nose, and chin. Sometimes the bumps are on my neck too. Every time I get it, it lasts from a few days to a couple weeks, then disappears as quickly as it appeared. This time, desperate to do something to make my face look better, I exfoliated it like crazy. BIG MISTAKE! Now it hurts pretty bad and looks even worse. And any type of lotion not only doesn't work for the dryness, it makes it even more red and irritated and burns when I put it on. I can use my makeup ok because I use the mineral makeup so it can be covered somewhat. But it's really irritating! HELP! I have a doctor's appointment for tomorrow but I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with rosacea %26amp; if that's what it might be. Thanks!!Do you think this could be rosacea?
yeah it sounds most like it. you should now go to a dermatologist.Do you think this could be rosacea?
It could be - although I don't know about the patch on your neck - normally rosacea is on the cheeks and nose -

I like the Cetaphil (the generic form of it) lotion. It keeps the rosacea moisturized and it's very gentle on the skin. Some tubes even have SPF sunscreen to protect from those desert rays.I live in the desert and my Dr. says I have rosacea. My face burns-is there a cream that you like?

Why not go to your GP? The standard treatment works quite well and should cause you no damage or concern.

Hey there. I have rosacea too... I've spent a LOT of time and money researching the best cleansers, moisturizers and makeup to help it. While it will never go away, there are some products that will make it so that your skin won't get worse (get redder and blotchier). Check out this page on my website: it's http://www.natural-skincare-solutions.co鈥?/a> I have pictures of me on my site as well. Is your rosacea as bad as mine?? I am putting up my recommended products on my site soon, so check back often!

    Good luck :-) Sara

    Whats best to treat Rosacea?

I have a really bad case of Rosacea all on my cheeks, how do i get rid of it?Whats best to treat Rosacea?
One of the best treatments available today is a medication called Finacea, which contains azelaic acid. It's a prescription product that, when compared against a more commonly-prescribed treatment, MetroGel (a topical antibiotic), was studied to provide better results and also continued to be effective after the antibiotic therapy stopped being effective.

Also, combination therapy (using more than one product to treat the condition) frequently provides the best results. So, you might to consider adding a prescription wash, like Plexion, to your treatment regimen, as well.

Finally, adding a course of oral (not topical) doxycycline would probably provide the maximum benefit. Doxycycline is the generic drug used in the medication Oracea, a low-dose form of doxycycline designed to specifically battle rosacea. So, with these three medications together, you should be able to bring your rosacea under good control.Whats best to treat Rosacea?
You need an antibiotic course (Tetracycline) for 3 consecutive weeks alongwith application of Metronidazole gel ( comes with differnet generic names) on affected areas.

Try to make an appointment with your GP.

    Hope this helps !
